Taco truck for dinner tonight. Who knew that they didn't open until las ocho? We stopped by 45 minutes ago after 'ritas at the much more expensive and not nearly as good Mexican restaurant on my block and they were still doing prep work. Gotta head back and get an order in now.

Developing apps for the BB is harder than for Android. Might have to do iPhone first.

Will have to see how official BNA-area schedule shakes out, as it's also the girlfriend's birthday. ;)

Excellent! Who says chili is only for the cooler time of the year :D^

Salad for dinner. Time for bed soon.

I realize SkyPesos are worth about 2/3 of what other miles are worth but holy sh!t. Somone evidently is valuing their pesos at 70,500 for $100.

With the extent of air conditioning I use in my home ...

Just got home from car dealer repair center. My car's ability to lock and unlock doors failed this afternoon. I was able to open the driver's side door, but none of the other doors were operational. That seemed to be a problem. Apparently, I was not able to open the door to the gas fill area.

Thank goodness for extended warranty and service plan. ^

That's discussed in the SkyTeam USA forum often, especially as one can get the same gift card in the Marketplace for 10,000 miles (Plat/Diamond/AmEx combination).

Evening, Box. The next few days at work are going to be non-stop insanity because we were just informed today that the entire basement, which is to be renovated this summer, has to be 100% cleaned out by SUNDAY. This means my office, the entire choral library, etc. I will be running around crazed until then (and probably not sitting at my desk).

If I were faced with driving that distance or not going, I would not go, unless it were for some very important reason. YMMV.

I was basically raised to believe that "not going" was almost never an option - my parents would regularly do same-day driving turns to BOS or HVN to come watch my concerts, etc., and if you got invited to a wedding/funeral/other event you went, regardless of location, unless there was something major already set in stone on the calendar. I've tried to do the same in my life.

Agreed, and for "family" I would also sub "any carpooling situation". For me, the limiting factor is the aloneness - the need to constantly stay awake, alert, and non-twitchy while not being able to do much else besides, well, drive gets difficult for me after a while. I haven't driven more than 4 hours by myself since doing BTR-HHH in a day (and, a week later, doing the reverse). Ugh. The Florida Panhandle is not fun.

I fail to understand the concept of class reunions, but this is from a guy whose high school has no alumni relations whatsoever. My 10-year, which I thankfully missed, was organized on MySpace and held in a bar. About 40 of 300 people showed up. I can also say without hesitation that I hated almost every minute of high school, so I have no desire to revisit the people and scenarios that made me miserable.

I was the non-valedictorian (somewhere in the top 4) of a class of 37. Just had my 10 year - it was fun! Only about 8 or us, plus a couple of husbands/fiances (including tjtenor4) and kids - but we had the all-school luncheon and then a class dinner, and it was fun to catch up.

I don't look back at HS lovingly as "the best four years of my life" - I knew the whole time that college would be better in all possible ways - but it was still positive enough, you know?

Now college reunions... :D (and I didn't even go to Princeton, whose annual reunion weekend basically wrote the book on such things. My sister is semi-involved for this weekend through her sorority/a cappella group and is very, very excited for the mass bacchanal.)

I grew up going to reunions at sbm12's alma mater with my parents. So fun. I didn't even end up going to the school and I still got choked up seeing people from the class of 1930-something singing the old songs. :)

I'd rather do TPAC in Y than not go at all, which is what I've been doing the last...13 years. I haven't been overseas for a "vacation" (i.e. on my own dime) in 10 years. Never had the combination of time/money/willingness to make sacrifices with either. I know, I know, you can revoke my membership card. It will all change, and significantly, starting next summer. :-:

Possibly a combination of old shoes and old age. Is it possible for your arch to literally collapse, because that what it feels like.

+1. I've always had flat feet but haven't REALLY felt it until this year, when anything except "ultra-supportive" shoes will be pretty rough by the end of a full day (and, unfortunately, the hiking boots don't really go with the majority of women's American business attire).

I would put up with IAH-ANC in Y for that form of compensation.

I have not yet slept in an airport but would also consider doing so for a $1,000 cert :D

+1 to all of the above.

Ah, THAT's why we get a tiny selection compared to the other platforms. :(
