BBQ procured. Not the best I've ever had, but it did the job.

As of later today, the aforementioned 6-month balance transfer promo will be 50% paid off. Today is one month since the balance posted.

And focusing on those higher interest balances makes that plan move so much quicker.

Did TN make the short list?

Also, these posts are on my new computer which arrived this morning. Tasty, tasty new computer.

Unless I have a catastrophic failure at home, the next new computer I'll get will be issued by the State

Nope, the other one in town (though HB is very, very close to my parents' house).

I had a friend in high school who went to the other one, but I think you're at least a few years younger than she.

I went to HS at the all-boys school downtown.

I took the 17% balance and moved it to 5.9% for 6 months with a 5% movement fee. The first finance charge was about $9, and I don't expect to pay more than two of those carrying charges. The other card is still at 14.2%, but that will move in full or in large part once this one is paid.

Not yet. You have made good points regarding the things that matter to me secondarily, like taxation and politics. Primarily for me is finding a city with a large pool of above-average hotel properties, and for teh Connection it would be a suitable territory in her vertical. I want a majority of hot weather and good golf too. The lack of humidity in a desert climate is preferable for me, and she likes the preponderance of good hair days. I can sell it that way if I have to.

Why AZ? That's not exactly a booming place right now, and is nowhere I would want to live full-time, in any event.

The Choice Hotels points have finally managed to sell out (or get removed from) the AmEx Daily Getaways website.

Ahhh....reward search.

Yes, that is quite annoying.

Interesting - depending on the ETOPS rating they get, they may have to detour a little bit out of the way on the trip vs the direct great circle route.

I'd guess ETOPS180, just like the rest of the fleet. And that would necessitate a bit extra flying.
