Yep. Registered for it the day it started and have already booked 4,000 points as a result.

Looks like I may have to rethink some of my Starwood stay strategy. The Baton Rouge Sheraton is no longer a Sheraton as of yesterday. No huge loss there, as the local management never did much to stay on top of what was expected by SPG elite members, nor did they take very good care of the property. But it was always an easy place for me to grab Starwood stays and nights when I needed them, and while it was far from the best hotel in town, it was always at least bearable. Apparently the place is going it alone with no affiliation other than to the casino it's attached to for now. I'm sure that will work out well for them.

I'm not totally surprised. I noticed Sheraton logos disappearing off doors and signs when I stayed there last three weeks ago.

Fortunately I've got enough Monday and Thursday nights I can spend in Houston this year that I should have no problem getting the rest of the stays I need to renew status and take advantage of promotions.

You guys really need to stick an Aloft or something in Huntsville and Nacogdoches, TX and then I could stay there more. :p

I'll have to PM you when I get home tonight and look at them. I tried them, Sony, and Bose, and came away feeling that they did the best job, and were the most comfortable.

I selected 5,000 points after every 2 stays, rather than a free night. The points don't expire. :-:

I see. I'm doing free nights, as I'll be able to earn a bunch by June 30 and use them all by the end of August.

Thanks a bunch. It looks like a lot of the over-the-ear Panasonics have been discontinued and are only available used but I really appreciate the feedback.

So am I!:D I ended taking points for my leftover stays from the last promo, as I'm on the 'diamond fasttrack' promo now, so am trying do the qualifying stays while the BWB promo is on!^

My new Emerald Executive card is butt ugly. And has the wrong status on it.

To National's credit they recently e-mailed me and told me they had sent a card with the wrong status and were doing a new mailing soon.

National did the same thing to me last year. They made good on it and sent the right card within a couple days.

Four Points on Southwest Freeway would be my guess. Straight down Kirby to the stadium. But it's not much closer than the Galleria area locations.

Starwood really needs some hotels in parts of Houston that aren't Uptown/Galleria. Like Downtown or the Medical Center.

Probably the 4P Southwest on 59 @ Kirby. You can take Kirby down to the stadium from there.

Edit: Beaten like a lame mule.

Also, sbm12 and I stayed there back in October and it was in the middle of renovations; hopefully they've got all that finished as the rooms were definitely in need. :-:
