Energy and interest level expected by my client I'm working with right now via WebEx and the phone:

Yeah, this is one of those. Too bad I have to actually fake my interest today. |
I can haz Hyatt tonight. No G-bonus, but it will net me a 5K 2d stay bonus. ^

Can't believe there's no Hyatt property at LAX (there's an el segundo property, but no shuttle), and nothing in Mexico City.

Same here. I've got at least two stays between now and May 1 that would qualify.

It amazes me that I'm even considering patronizing SPG given my 0-for-39 streak of employment application failures with your company.

Interesting updates from the water pressure front.
I called our MUD (Municipal Utility District) and asked to speak with someone regarding water pressure and the need for a PRV (Pressure Reduction Valve). The operator took my info and said someone technical would call me. I fully expected  and to be called back sometime after Doug Parker became a humble human being. Much to my surprise, the tech called me back about five minutes later and we had a great conversation that was very enlightening. He related that the water service coming into the neighborhood is indeed rife with high pressure, to the tune of about 80psi. As such, all homes built since about 1995 have PRVs installed just off the meter. So one of three things has occurred:
Replacing a PRV is far easier than installing a new one. He also related that $1500 to install a PRV was abject lunacy on par with the creation of It's A Small World at Disneyland. Further, he is going to my house right now to find and mark the PRV, as well as check the pressure and leave a note on my door with his findings. I had some trepidation about the higher taxes in my subdivision because of the MUD (slightly higher taxes, lower monthly bills, or so they say), but that is fantastic service and makes me feel a little better about the whole mess. ^ My name is Corey, and I'm a home:rolleyes:wner. |

Hopefully, both of you have registered for the 1,000 Starpoints\stay offer for Flyertalkers that runs through April 30th.
Even better that one of the stays is a $46/night prepaid special rate at the Sheraton National (and one's a $69 rate at 4P LAX). :D |

I know I haven't posted in a while so I'm probably demoted to the level of "Box Pledge", but I wonder if I could solicit some advice on noise cancelling headphones.
Right now, I've narrowed it down to two: Technica ATH-ANC7B's or Koss QZ900's. Both are around the same price and have similar positive/negative reviews and features. The Koss ones come with a lifetime warranty but the Technica ones have better accessories and a lot more online reviews. Just wondering if anyone has experience with either one of these or has heard good vs bad things about them. I also looked at the Sony and Bose ones but they don't seem to be $200 better than the Technica and Koss ones. I appreciate any advice. Thanks Box! |

Heh, dude from the MUD just called again. PRV is buried deeper than he wants to dig (don't blame him) but the pressure tested at 80psi. At that rate, it would take 20 years for something to start having a problem, and we will have replaced all the fixtures in the house well before that. I'm going to get my own gauge and test for another data point, and if it corroborates with the MUD guy's readings, I'm blowing off doing anything and saving the money. :-:
