This was a drill. This was only a drill. Excellent response time, however.^

I wish he could.

In other news, I am in my 10th year at work and I have been invited to the annual gala at the Westmount Country Club because I am celebrating an incremental event year (10, 15, or 20 years). It is the day we get back from China

We had a suicide by cop earlier in the shift.

Coward.

He pointed the gun at the police. The lit him up.

I can't find anything in the news yet.

Coward.

Less f-ed up than the guy that jumped in front of the train in January 200 feet from me. But yes coward. Sorry to hear the police officers have to deal with this for the rest of their lives.

I was just punished for finding a short cut. I didn't want to do an easy report for tomorrows meeting. So I took Septembers report, cut and pasted the date an location from the template file, checked if anything changed and then copied it to a thumb drive. I then some how slightly messed up my shoulder lifting my laptop bag.

I take it took place after noon as I was around a bunch of state troopers this morning and would have heard about it from them.

There is a new Westin opening soon in Memorial City that isn't too far from that. There's also a Four Points in that area, and a Sheraton that's a few miles north on the Sam Houston Tollway. It's not quite the Starwood wasteland that downtown Houston is.

One-way rentals with National are often crazy expensive. You tend to get the choice of a reasonable daily rate with no free miles and a charge per mile driven, or free unlimited miles with an obscene daily rate. There is no good option there. One-way rentals are quite possibly the best use of free days IMO. Find a rate code that allows for free unlimited miles on one-way rentals and then redeem the days to offset the ridiculous daily rate. Only way to do it.
