I think there's a happy medium between anarchy and full-on Orwellian mind-control (neither extreme being palatable, in my view). I think some level of social/economic planning in a society of 7 Billion people is preferable to complete anarchy, and generally inevitable, as humans seem to constitute a self-organizing system in large numbers (and even in smaller groups). Political arguments tend to be over the process/system of organization, and arguing over what that happy medium is, rather than whether we should be organized at all (the anarchist viewpoint, which I don't find credible).
