Am I correct in assuming that the place is in Florida? If so, what city?

I'm not 50, but I know someone who is...and, well, quite honestly, $25K for a reasonably decent place is probably a steal.

Only in NJ. Link

Yet another reason why Texas is awesome.

I only skimmed the article, but the 1980's oil bust (and the lessons learned therefrom) is another reason why things are they way they are now.

What Trenton makes, the world takes.

The South is looking better and better to me every day. It just seems like there is more common sense to be had.

I knew the text size and layout had changed today when I was playing with it, but the inclusion of LX has made it a lot more useful! ^

I think that's true, but the article also does a great job of finding statues from back when the state was formed in the 1800s about resistance to loans for homes, especially the crazy kind.

I haven't spent any time yet in the northeast but I gotta tell you that getting out of California was the best thing that we could have done.

Boca Raton FL. It's in a huge area with tons of condos. You don't have to be 50 to be an owner just 50 in order to live there or rent. You can find tons of units in this condo city for just as cheap as mine will soon be.

Taxes are around $500 if you are a homesteader or $900 if you aren't. Insurance is around $850/year. Association/maintenance fees are $500/month.

Yes the place will be a steal. My dad purchased it in 1994 for $95,000. I really would like to get $35K but I'm not going to lose a sell for $10K when nothing in the area is moving at all. 2 bedroom/1.5 bath 850 sq ft.

I think the object lesson here is that the Times is pissed about this solely because there could be someone out there not adhering to their agenda.

Living in certain parts of the South would quickly change your thoughts on there being more common sense there.

NJ and the Northeast really aren't nearly as bad as you make them out to be.

For that monthly fee, does J. Edward come to my front door in a stolen golf cart with cocktails and my grocery order?

I don't ask for much. I want to be able to make left turns, have little to no hurdles in firearm ownership, and live in a place that has a more efficient system of governance.

I wish. :D

This place does have alot of things to offer. They provide buses to places and events for free and I'm sure a ton of other things for that high price. I'm sure most people look at it as their "rent".
