I like the new start menu UI. Other than control panels being all messed up (and I got around that) I don't notice enough truly different to matter. Then again, I generally use about 6 apps total and everything else is Win-R and the run command pops right up. I have pretty simple needs and I find that it meets them quite well. I also think that the performance is actually better with Win7 on my NetBook than XP was.

Performance is better. I'm amazed at how fast it is.

Somewhat shameless plug, but for a free trip you shouldn't complain. Register for this contest: http://www.boardingarea.com/goldcoast/. Free trip for two to Oz, on revenue tickets with revenue hotels. Roughly 20 opportunities to enter.

Very good idea.

Is it my eyes playing tricks on me or is the graphic at the top of the page in 3D.

G'day, Box!

After turning off a bunch of the "eye-candy" the install isn't so bad.

The peeks is nice.

Now to figure out where the humming is coming from.

I had a (potential) Flyertalker in front of me driving home today. Their license plate said "XIST2FLY".

Yeah, though as a revenue ticket I'm sure you can figure a way to upgrade or do something useful with it.

I just returned from a lunch meeting with a service provider. Said provider flew his Cirrus SR20 from San Diego. I met him at SMO and we went out to lunch. We walked back to his plane and chatted while watching the takeoffs/landings. Not a bad way to spend a Monday. ^

Thus endeth my 4,000th post on FT.
