Those are my only two, to date. I'd like to take a longer trip out there to visit the Big Island.

Me, too!^ My family has roots in Hawai'i -- but somehow I only got around to visiting in 2002!

Glad to hear that you're home -- what's with the weather there?!:rolleyes:

it is raining/snowing/sleeting stuffchunks out of the sky, not cold enough to stick, or cold enough to harden to regular sleet, and obviously so windy that they stick together and fall in one big bundle.

I am going to LIH at the end of the month.

NYC was dreadfully slushy on friday night. I went into Manhattan and walked around, I needed rubber boots for all that water slush dirt I was walking through.

Today was a blast, I got to experience the finest in NYC bus drivers, goes Not In Service as driving people start to board the bus. Waited another 20 min for next Q33, and then he makes dozens of courtesy stops, ok that is fine, but it took FOREVER to get to LGA. (these were opposites, one rude, one too kind)

I get to LGA and the ticket/checkin Agent says no SDC for you without pay, I start telling him he is wrong that Plats are free, super hears and backs me up ^

Gate Agent adds me to list, says no chance it is already full, I said add me anyway I want to see what happens.
I jumped all 12-14 on the list (Steve may remember it varied a bit) to #1, and I get the battlefield upgrade when one missed the plane.
I get through security and got the joy of watching a bewildered former #1 now #2 on the list go irate on the agent about how he was #1 all along and now #2. she handled it well, just ignoring him for the most part and saying sorry sir someone else had joined the flight with a higher status ^

We plan on getting up very early to go out and explore before out flight so we might take a hike up there. Thanks ^

I would recommend relaxing in HNL the first evening and hitting the tiki bar near the airport after your flight, then having a relaxing dinner at a nice restaurant. Diamond Head in the morning before your flight is indeed a good idea, as you likely will be jetlagged coming from the East Coast and will want to get up early anyway (whenever I go to Hawaii I end up awake by 5:30 am the first two days).

I am so tired, I slept on my lga-iah bulkhead seat, but not nearly as well as I am about to sleep in my own bed.

I think every boxer that went to MEX snores, each to varying degrees. But I am not sure any one of us is as bad as the guy on our PTY-JFK flight....I don't even know how to describe it. He had at LEAST 6 different snore patterns from choking chicken to heroin snorting cow.
