There's a "Japanese steakhouse" in my town owned by a Korean family - in fact, the family has roots in a city in Korea where the ex's sister taught. I get real Korean food as a supplement to any meal I order there. :D

Alright all, I'm logging off.

GRK has extensive Korean population, both Korean American, and actually still Korean residents in visiting family. they have a great selection of korean markets and dining. Really enjoyable place to go. The best one is rather pricey however...I think it was $50 just for me. (that is pretty high for GRK area!)

I have an appointment tomorrow morning at Gardner Rich here in Chicago. This is the firm that was founded by Chris Gardner, whom Will Smith portrayed in The Pursuit of Happyness. My contact told me that Mr. Gardner is in town this week, so there's a chance I may get to meet him.

Must get sleep. Good Night, Box.

Hmmmm, need to get my other half to SFO to meet me while I'm there for a work conference next month. Options are:
WWTBD? I'm tempted to go for option 4. Least hit on my wallet, and while it's the same number of miles as option 3, he'd be in US F versus CO Y. I could also possibly use UA miles for this as well. Go the US option (probably already booked but I wanted to answer anyways) BTW, when are yall there. There are several of us the last weekend of April!

I'm not a fan of the pretzels either. I love good pretzels — the big kind, fresh out of the oven, but the little mini pretzels and mini pretzel sticks CO has been serving lately don't cut it. I especially hate it when that's all CO can offer in domestic F. CO's domestic F meals are still, IMO, the best overall in the US, and they have one of the most generous meal-time policies on serving them. However, if you don't get the meal, they offer the same thing as in Y, just with free booze and it comes in a real glass. The snack baskets on other airlines at least offer some variety, including whole fruit if you want something a little healthier to munch on.
I rarely eat CO's pretzels. Every once in a while I will, but 95% of the time, I just decline them from the FA.

Love it when Craigslist transactions are easy. So often they're not. Less than 24 hours after listing a broken computer, a working but outdated computer, and a box of assorted computer parts, cables, and old software for $75 on Craigslist (wanted at least $50 for it), it's out my door right when the guy said he'd be here, and I've got $55 in cash in my wallet for it. And, he had no issue finding our place, which is good. Mapquest and many GPS navigation units have our address in the wrong place. This guy didn't call because he was lost; he called when he was at the gate waiting to be let in. That's how it should be done.
Now it's time to list some more junk we don't want anymore and try to get it out of here before a potential relocation that may be happening next month.

Well, I have started booking my flights to EWR.
Looks like I'll be in the Raritan/Bridgewater area for a couple of weeks. Details to follow. At least the flights for next week are all B-fares - thus, I'm already up front.

I've rebooked, I'm now on the 5:35am ORD-IAH on Saturday.
By the time I get home from Tokyo on March 26, it will be 33 days since I've seen my apartment. Not a record, but close. I guess I can expect a few more terse emails from the manager at the UPS store regarding a prodigious heap of mail.

All three segments are new lines and YX is a new carrier, even if in name only. At least I get one E70 segment on them, plus an E75 on the MDW-LGA flight.

Good Evening Box.
I'm beat. I basically worked the baggage office by myself last night. Hardly any claims to take but tons of advanced bags to move off and back on again from the carousels. It's only 8:20 but I'm going to bed. Good night. \Preliminary interview went well. it is usually a phone interview but this was in person as I live in the area. Went expecting an hour but it turned into two hours. I felt it went well and has a lot of potential. The chef will be getting back to me about a group interview in the coming week. After that there is a demostration or lecture presentation. Then an offer! Still havent heard back from Express Jet. I will email tomorrow. |
The job would also potentially only be 4 days so weekend travel would be a go!
Bad part of not having a job is booking travel is too easy!! i need more will power! I am like a crack whore in a crack house!! |
I got 3,000 bonus points from the HH Service center the other day for slow service on the Diamond line. That was nice :)
My balance in CO is about 400K and my HH is 200K. I have or will have another 50K on two others. I am actually thinking about doing DL. But I dont know that I will continue to fly with new job!! Ugh, decisions, decisions!! |
