ssullivan, thank you for a very nice afternoon story. I am very happy I didn't fly today! It almost made cleaning up after a sick 5 year old seem fun :p

I'm just glad to be home. I technically have work I need to do but at this point, I think it can wait until mañana. |

Today, I probably would have gladly traded with you and taken care of the sick 5 year old. ;)

Why is marriott.com hanging up when I search for hotels?

Hmm… in a fit of jealousy over ALCO and CO 1E's trip to AMS, my partner and his sister's two week vacation to Spain and France that starts in 10 days, which I can't go on because I have no vacation time left, and the fact I haven't crossed an international border in over six months, I'm seriously burning some miles for the two of us to go someplace outside of North America for New Year's. Of course we're already planning to go to London for a weekend in February and South America/Easter Island for two weeks in late April, but still, I feel the need to have plans for a trip off the continent in the next 45 days. Any suggestions for a good place to burn some OnePass or Mileage Plus miles for a quickie trip at New Year's?

Quickie as in the Bahamas or quickie as in HKG? |

OK, so let's not do HKG. Nothing available at standard redemption rates from SkyTeam, and there's not enough Mileage Plus miles in my account to get us in the pointy end. And we're not doing Y across the Pacific. Ever.
Time to check other places. |

Probably the same reason my stay at the Courtyard IAH/Greenspoint from a week ago still hasn't posted to my Marriott Rewards account.
