Dunno; Great Circle Mapper still has the IUD code, too. I wonder if the DoD somehow managed to convince CO (i.e. cash) to dedicate a 772 to the airlift efforts for a longer term. CO doesn't really have the 772 to spare, especially if the reports about the "hot spare" in IAH are true.

and airlines like UA have plenty of 744's sitting in Victorville not doing a thing.

Screwed if you do, screwed if you don't. The planes end up in storage because demand for their use disappears, and then if they are needed and can make money, it's cost-prohibitive to pull them from storage.

Wow, a rep from iBahn posted in a thread about horrible Internet access speeds at Marriott hotels offering to look into individual issues.

Marriott, *Wood, CO, LH - top dogs at FT interaction. WN comes a close second.

I just Googled "IAH hot spare" and this page came up as the first hit. Google really does control the planet.

Bobsled crashed and ejected one of the riders. That must be quite the experience...

This track at Whistler is not making any friends.

Searching for my username brings up my FT profile. It used to not be that way. :-:

Might be more what you're looking for, though it is the recent explanation, not the details of where the planes are staged.

With a little bit of time it shouldn't be too hard to map all 20 for a few days and track where they are pausing as they make their runs.

It's been interesting for me on Facebook recently -- am connecting w/classmates from my childhood! I went to two different high schools -- so have two different 'communities' there! It's a bit weird seeing kids that I grew up with -- now as adults! We definitely don't all 'age' the same!:rolleyes:

Sweet. Thanks for that. I wasn't familiar with "hot spare" either...on the USAF side of the house, it was simply called "the spare".
