Oh, man. :(

Looks like I'll be making the longer drive out to Stonewall, then, for Becker Vineyards.

I did mine three weeks ago, got my refund, and then realized I'd left some things off. About to start my amendment this afternoon.

Get Droid, just as good. ;)

I think I am going to cave in and get the Droid. My Treo is on its last legs. It keeps turning itself on and off at will, jumbles my emails, calls my VMs on a whim. It's possessed, I think. :(

Searching for rewards at the time we're going (June low season) for this year and using it as a barometer for 2011, thanks.

If you can get an award ticket on a CO nonstop flight to HNL out of EWR or IAH, the seat and service will be far better than on UA. However, UA does have a lot more options, as well as E+ if you're in the main cabin. IFE on CO's 767s is also a little better, as you'll at least have a choice in what to watch. UA's domestic widebody service to Hawaii features overhead video screens at the front of the cabin in all classes of service. At least they've recently upgraded to more modern screens, as opposed to the 1980s vintage video projectors mounted on the ceiling they were using.

Actually, in some ways, it's better.

I got mine too. ^

PTY-MEX is still showing 4 empties in F. IIRC, when we booked this, that leg was on a 738 but now it's listed as a 73G....hopefully an equipment swap will put a few more F seats into the lottery.

Where are you checking seat availability?

I have always thought a SJU party would be fun. Direct flights from all of the hubs, liberal duty free policies and plenty of hotel options.

SJU- Muy Muy Bueno

the coach for the Miracle on Ice game, Herb Brooks - was booked to appear at a massive program I was involved in several years ago. Unfortunately, he was killed the day before he was supposed to be our keynote speaker ...

:(

Brooks flipped his car on an icy Minnesota road. Sad day for hockey.

The great thing is that you have a lot of Boxers who have been to the islands and can give you a ton of suggestions.

As for aeroporn, try one of the fixed wing tours. Us big guys and those helos typically dont go together well, but I had a blast taking our Aerovan tour of Kauai.

Good points all; nice linky. ^

I will be pestering Teh Box with all kinds of stuff once we get a handle on the budget and timing. I guess you have to be Super-Plat to see non-SlEasyPass availability on CO14/15.

I refuse to spend 300K miles for both of us to Hawaii. That is simply criminal.

Just curious what the other Boxers heading to AUS this weekend had planned for Saturday (beyond the morning tour).

I know Mrs. Mackie and I are planning on doing the brewery tour with colpuck; I know sfogate was planning on going on the BBQ run I think; not sure what cheepneezy or mnmag are planning on doing. But since we live here, beer > BBQ for this weekend. :D Of course, we're going to have good BBQ here in town too.

Edit: But other than that, if all else fails (I don't see how that's possible) we can always go to our house and play drunk wii sports. :-:

That's just as good a random numerical milestone as any other.:-:^:-:

carsonheim Feb 22, 2010 10:31 am

question about a scenario:

carsonheim purchases cheap ticket, selects seat 6A
carsonheim hubby purchases cheap ticket, selects seat 6C
carsonheim purchases fully refundable "extra seat" ticket, selects seat 6B

T-30 minutes, carsonheim cancels fully refundable "extra seat" ticket

carsonheim and hubby enjoy empty middle seat if EUAs do not clear OR if traveling internationally.

How realistic is this scenario?

mnmag Feb 22, 2010 10:31 am

G'Afternoon, B:rolleyes:X! Sitting in the courthouse in Newark -- waiting for my last mediation case to begin. It's not been the most 'successful' morning for mediation.

Ideally, I would like to do EWR-HNL, but I don't mind PHL-IAH-HNL. The larger question is what islands in what order and whether or not we could potentially get ourselves into KOA on rewards, as the resort she likes is only 8 miles from the airport.

I did a helo tour several years ago and can't recommend it (or a fixed wing) enough. ^^

I think you need to be extremely patient with a Plan B waitlist to get CO14/15. Don't forget CLT-HNL as an option as well...

I'm doing BBQ -- since I don't live there!:D
