That's twelve-letter territory for her.

:D

Teh Otter One is totally up for Freetown and an Mi-8 ride. I told her to hold off booking until I find out whether my planned carrier for FNA-BJL will still be operating in July, or whether some new fly-by-night carrier will have come into being by then.

Saving time and money always makes women smile. But this woman of mine is one that still gets rattled when a mainline jet lowers the slats and flaps and opens the gear doors because the noise scares her or something. I've heard something to the effect of "I'm fine at cruise; it's takeoff and landing that rattle me."

Of course I will be at the reception Friday night. I'm leaving SFO on the 6am flight to connect thru IAH to arrive in AUS at around 2pm. I'm doing the employee standby thing but the flights look good.

I have a feeling that I will skip Juan in a Million since I will hopefully be drunk and stuffed Friday night. Plus I signed up for the Capitol Tour at 9:30am, then I'm touring Live Oaks Brewery because one can not have enough alcohol during the weekend and then on to Serrano's for dinner and on Sunday I'm stuffing more BBQ into my body at Salt Lick and flying home at around 5pm.

Great! Look forward to meeting you. :)

The HA 717s are fun, as are the WP Dash 8s.

The 717 is a nice little plane. I really wish it had sold better. It's certainly more economical than the 735 and 736 for carrying about the same number of passengers. And you have to love those really tall overhead bins that hold a ton of luggage. I've fit my 22" expandable carry-on bag in the overhead with room to spare while fully expanded on an AirTran 717 before.

I like your fiancee. She and I agree on this! :D:D When I hear the flaps creaking and the landing gear drop, I do a little mind flip!

Whereas I find comfort in hearing flap changes and gear drops. Ensures that they're still there and working. :o

I don't know; maybe it's because I have some small amount of cockpit experience...but when I hear the wing being configured I don't get bothered at all, and when I hear the gear drop I tell myself "Five-mile final; I can pee soon."

I also hate sitting over teh wing. I hate looking at it "bouncing" around in the air. Makes me think it is going to fall off...:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Doesn't bother me at all. It's the very rare unusual noises that do.

Reassure yourself of the INP-ness of this thought by watching videos of wing stress testing. You'll see just how far a wing can bend without any safety of flight issues and then looking out the window becomes a non-activity.

Watching the first minute of this video should clear up that fear.
