My only requirement is it has to be warm. So no Y(XX) nonsense.

Was just browsing white water rafting trips out west but apparently those don't start until the week after we're targeting our vacation.

Go rafting and stay reasonably local. There are some great rapids in PA and WV, IIRC. I used to have a boss who chased white water for a few weeks each year.

Must be out teh door in 45 minutes. Now would be a good time to shower.

I need to get out of my apartment for a while, it's giving me a headache. Later, Box.

What's the fun in that? :D

I've actually done rafting in both PA and WV. I'm rather  about the actual rafting component of the trip and am more in it for a unique perspective on some absolutely phenomenal scenery out west.

Plus I want to push the Canuck overboard.

I'm glad weekend minutes are free.

 That's just mean.

:D

I think I've heard some co-workers doing the rafting thing down the American River. Not sure where the heck that is but I'm guessing CO or somewhere out West here.

 at WN. They changed their landing pattern into HOU. Lately, they have been flying over downtown and conversely, my house.:mad: They were just fine before. Why the change? I am poor at determining altitude above my place. But, I'm guessing it's a few thousand feet ASL.:mad: Are they trying to show off their planes to CO World HQ (which is about 1 mile from me)??

G'day box.

This afternoon's project: finding somewhere warm to go during the last week in March (the one that straddles April) that's reasonably priced. Open to ideas.

That's the time period I took my little and cheap trip to HNL last year. It's just after spring break time so the college kids are 99% gone and right before their spring rush.

Wind changed to be out of the south, so ops are on RWY 12R. When a cold front comes through in the next day or so it will change around.

I live on the flight path into SFO. Planes drop their landing gear right at my house and I asked a pilot once just how high/low they were at that point. He said that on a 737 about 1800 ft. I'm about 5 miles from the airport on the glide path so if you're 1 mile away they must be quite a bit lower than that.

The challenge is that its spring break time for most NY + NJ schools so flights are super expensive. The Canuck's break is the week before Easter I believe.

Not a chance I'll find a cheap flight to HNL.

Right now I'm leaning towards flying into PHX and showing her Sedona, the Grand Canyon, Vegas (), and then use PSP as a jumping off point for Joshua Tree, Mojave, etc. That might be an overly ambitious trip for a week if we actually want to enjoy it but I can noodle around with the itinerary.
