We spent a night there summer before last on our ill-fated shore vacation. It was very nice -- three pools, hiking trails, boat rental, etc. I didn't have a chance to play golf, but the course was very well-kept and reasonably challenging. I'd love to go back, with or without the kids.

I also have family friends who live on the "Eastern Shore" now - many of you know I'm originally from Calvert Country (western side of the Bay).

Booked a HP for Friday night - need to start off the new promotion well. It's a $79 room rate but $10 immediately comes off due to Costco. Will also permit me a side-trip to Trader Joes (and perhaps F Scotts, traffic depending).

We are toying with 2 stays this weekend, but we haven't finalized our plans yet. At worst, we will go down to Irvine and get the points for a closed RC.

Hotline number

I can't capture the quote but here is a national hotline for suicide prevention that the person can also call 24/7: It is available in English as well as Spanish.

1-800-448-3000

1-800-273 8255 (TALK)

I hope that the situation gets better and that the person is able to receive help and find some resolution.

What do you do if someone you only know online threatens suicide?

Does the situation change if you have personal contact details for them (name/address/phone)?

Well, the good news is that I'm not the only one dealing with this and it has gon up the chain of command, so to speak, so someone way above my pay grade is in touch with the appropriate authorities. The hard part is that I have had some direct conversations with the person (albeit all online/email/chat/etc.) and it has me a bit freaked out. I know I've done everything I can to try to help; now I just have to hope for the best. That's not a position I like being in.

Sorry to hear you got dragged into such a situation. Good to hear others have stepped in.
I'm honestly surprised I've never been dragged into such a situation and god hope it stays that way.

Hoping for the best as well. You've done what you can do, which is all you can do.
