I tried signing up online but a no go. Does anyone have a number for this?

I think this was for people who re-qualified or maybe even matched in 2009; soon-to-expire status probably won't work (as the system is recognizing Diamond already).

I haven't read this yet, but it's supposedly a rant from the guy that crashed the plane in AUS.

just read it. sad thing is, a lot of what he said is true. too bad he felt this was the way out.

About to lecture on strategy.

I told my manager today that I would accept the project manager role on our upcoming roll out. Roll out starts in April with the client doing pilots in Paramus NJ, Oak Brook IL and Scottsdale AZ. If the pilots go well, the full US roll out begins in May. It looks like my last international trip for a while will be Tokyo in March.

Right now I am looking at a spread sheet of the client's branches. Kalamazoo MI and Hattiesburg MS, here I come! Except as project manager I get to choose where I go each week, and there are plenty of SFO, LAX, ORD and tons of other great cities on the list too.

CM, what was the base fare for the PHL-SNA trips?

I don't have it handy; I'm Bolting right now. It was a T fare (I know, too high...price I pay for wanting to squeeze some mile earning in before the job starts) and it's the 6am Q200 out and 1776 back. If you want to join me despite it being a prop segment, I promise I'll hold your hand. :)

I'm seeing $224 base. I'm debating whether to do a few transcon runs. Or, should I wait and hope for a long-haul good deal?

Still thinking about trying to construct some kind of run that includes HNL in April.

True long-haul deals are much more rare than transcon deals. That being said, $226 for a transcon is cheap but not really a deal, IMO.

The poo tub chapter seems to have closed. Just got off the phone with the rooms director of the hotel who apologized for a "complete breakdown."

Wants to comp. a future stay at the hotel, which is very tempting, but I don't want to go near the hotel. I'll keep it in my back pocket for the wedding and maybe I'll send the in-laws down there.

Long Haul deals have been exceedingly rare this winter season. :(
