I think I have decided that instead of driving to Florida for our spring break, we will go to Las Vegas instead.

Recommendations on hotels? Will be taking MissTeenBrit and LittleMissBrit, so would like a hotel that will accommodate them.

I am fairly partial to Bellagio, since it is so cool with the fountains, etc. With kids, Mandalay Bay might be a bit better due to pool options. Others, no doubt, will have other opinions...

Am in Newark with son - oh joy!

Judging by the sound of that statement, I don't think you mean the airport.

Hence my parents' collection of garden gnomes and the truly hideous presents my grandmother sent everyone towards the end of her life...

The one time I was in Vegas, I stayed at the Four Seasons, which is on top of Mandalay Bay. The 4S is probably not the greatest place for kids, but Mandalay Bay seemed nice, and the location was pretty good.

The most memorable part of the stay was my great view of the Luxor Sphinx's behind.

Yeah, Mandalay Bay has the wave pool which is probably a little more interesting for kids.

I love Vegas and can definitely recommend a few places. (Planet Hollywood isn't *wood anymore BTW) Vegas can be very boring for those under 21...

Thank you, sir. I will admit that EU or HI are not necessarily the best use of the miles I am trying to build (and to answer fozz's point, I started this year at 101K, and I'm trying for at least 135K for one EU ticket in F) but she is, as previously noted, extremely cost-conscious...and I want to look like I'm helping.

My office-mate asked me for ideas for a 20th anniversary trip with his wife this summer. The problem is that she REALLY doesn't want to fly. Apparently her parents hauled her all over the world when she was younger and now she feels that "she's done that already, why go again?" Poor guy has never been outside the country other than BDA twice (both on cruises) - he would love to go to Europe someday but figures it's not all that realistic.

OK, time to pick out something from the black section of the closet (yes, I have a separate section/drawer for it). Opening night.

That'll find it's way somewhere behind the report for the person who had a car drive into her during the snow storm the other day.:D(btw, she's fine)

Maybe I'm weird, but I remember enjoying it enough as a high schooler...checking out all the larger-than-life glitzy stuff (we did a lot of walking/window shopping/people-watching), going to the pool, a couple of fun meals and a show, and I was set.

Plus you can easily do the Grand Canyon as a side trip if you want.

The box is busy for a Thursday. Having a cold sucks. Made it a bit difficult to lecture for 3.5 hours (should have been 4 but I was cutting crap out so I could still talk)

Don't bother flying into AZO if you have to go there. Service is crap and always seem to have really long layovers. Fly to GRR and drive down. It's only an hour. That's what I use to do when I when to the wonderful community of P:rolleyes:rtage.

You still aren't learning. Check the airfares again Tuesday afternoon. They'll likely drop that $70.
