Standardized testing is unfortunately the metric that gets picked because it's standardized. What they fail to realize is that it's the students who are not standardized. NJ is fighting the battle over merit pay again...it'll be fun to see what our politicos come up with for that since that's even more subjective than not using test scores.

Must fire up fiancee's old lap brick and edit our wedding website. She wants a new laptop, and this cheapie Toshiba that the video gig bought me over the summer is working wonders for me. Wonder if something similar would make for a good anniversary gift.

I think parents should be tested to see if they are capable of properly raising their kids. It seems teachers fight a losing battle because of a lack of discipline at home.
