In retrospect, is your FT name a mistake?

I did not over ponder my FT name. Like many, I was not planning for the long term, and who knew that my professional career would become but a side job to collecting and expending points/miles? Warden is more accurate than Jailer, although Warden is not really spot-on either. And, although International Crime Lord, Have Handcuffs, Will Travel, and Freelance Screw all have their charm, there is a danger in shouting out your job. Will I have to change to Paroled Jailer when I retire?
Also, geographic designations can be ephemeral in our transitory breed. One FT buddy, AustinTxHiker, now lives in New England. Similarly, loyalty promiscuity can render hotel/airline-linked names obsolete.
So, thinking about your current personal brand, are you misnamed?

I think Handcuffs or the Screw one would have been perfect! This was not my first FT handle, so I had a bit of time to think it over. You could have always chosen something more under the radar, like Folger Adams.

I Will Always Be spartacus
I didn't think about it, just jumped in. Had I thought about it first I am sure I could have copped (no pun intended to OP!) to regrets now. But I have had some very interesting conversations over the years with other FT'ers about it, especially cigarman thinking I was anything but heterosexual when he told me about Googling my name and getting many interesting hits! The role of Kirk Douglas in the epic film I have always enjoyed just came to mind when I signed up and I purposely have it all in lowercase in defference to the original.
It does get amusing whenever I am forced to defend my handle and am always curious about why the poachers want to deny me my place in FT history.
The stories people tell about having regrets about their choice of names here is rather funny at times. I am sure that some need macros or else they would get carpal tunnel syndrome typing their handles!

But speaking of you, when I posted this I was thinking of calling you out as I was particularly wondering, is it still newself? When does it become venerable self?

Mine wasn't such a good idea in retospect. When I signed up I didn't envisage it becoming such a "hobby", and so I just used my old aol ID, as it was easy to remember - much as I have for all sorts of bulletin boards I have casually signed up to over the years, and occasionally check in to - like AVSforum, for example.
Now, however, with 1000+ posts under my belt, I'm not as anonymous as I might like - and it does make me think twice about posting sometimes, and I have had cause to regret a few of my late night Omni posts, and even gone back and deleted one or two.

Not at all, I wouldn't change it even if given the choice. It reflects my nationality and my destination of choice so not likely to become redundant any time soon (unless I get married

Ah, but you see. I've been here for longer than 10 weeks. Been a "selective" reader until one time when I registered to respond to something. And I'm still here.
I don't think I'll become an unhappy commuter out of Newark. If I am, well, I'm sure I can find something else to be happy about.
Jailer doesn't quite suit you, especially since this thread is amusing to say the least.
