Plans have changed for me slightly, school-wise. Wednesdays are still good for me. Mondays and Tuesdays are right out, as Monty Python would say. And, of course, once classes get started I may have to make Wednesday evening a study night instead of a poker night, but we'll just have to wait and see about that.

Would still be interested in the Heads Up Tournament if the participants can set their own time to play by mutual agreement. The HORSE thing sounds interesting though. IIRC, all the games are explained in detail on Full Tilt, but IMHO, experience is everything and reading about it can never replace that.

Okay, my signup is in process....

I funded my PP account a couple years ago with a $100 Western Union transfer. That was a bit of a pain, so I went ahead and opened a Neteller account and created a FullTiltPoker account. Now to wait the 4-5 days to get the money moved around....

Where do I go to sign up for the FT tournament on Wednesday nights? This is the first time I've used FTP, and it's non-obvious where to register for the private tournaments....

Thanks!
Rich

How to FInd the Tournament on Full Tilt

Hi Rich aka Holland :) - To play on Wednseday eves at 9 PM EST you sign up by
1. Open Up and Connect and Logon to Full Tilt
2. Click on tournaments in the top area of tabs.
3. When the tournament window opens look on the bottom and click on the tab for private tourneys.
4. [Note: this step not available until often the day of the tournament].If tournament is set up you will see a tourney listed Oct 12 for 21:00 hours at $10+$1.
5. Double lcick on it to open it and then it may ask for password which is in beginning of this thread.

You will not be able to register until the tournament is listed - so stay tuned and I usually just sign up on Wednesday evenings.
LOOking forward to seeing you on Wednesday...

HORSE Tournament

The HORSE Tournament has been added to Full Tilt for this Tuesday (10/11/05) at 8:00pm ET. You can find it under the private tournaments tab, tourney # 1574114. Buy in is $10+$1, and password is the same as the regular Wednesday password (see post #1 in this thread). Feel free to invite your friends and family. See you there!

Anyone willing to spot me this week?

I'd love to play this week while I'm home recuiperating from knee surgery, but it looks like my Neteller account verification is going to take most of the week to complete. I just transferred $150 from my PartyPoker account out to Neteller hoping I could move that to FTP, but that supposedly takes 24-48 hours. Is anyone out there willing to spot me the $11 via a transfer on FTP? I'll transfer it back as soon as my PP or bank transfer hits Neteller and I can send it back (or if I win anything in the tournament, of course).

If anyone's willing, PM me here and I'll send you my FTP username. If not, I'll just have to wait until next week I guess....

Could someone remind me how HORSE tournaments work? I don't see the description here, but sounds like you all discussed it last week during the hold'em tourney.

Is it just a tourney with 5 different games? If so, which games?

Thanks
Signed,
Dead Money in the horse tourney

HORSE = Hold'em, Omaha 8-or-better, Razz, Seven Stud, Eight-or-better Stud

It's a good way to determine the best all-around player, rather than the best hold'em player. I'm not sure which of these in our tournament are limit, PL, or NL. Figured I'd find out whe I play the tournament... the strategy is very different in limit vs. PL/NL for most games though.

I just got a shirt in the mail that says "I busted Quiet Lion at Full Tilt Poker". :D :D :D

All the HORSE tourneys I've seen have been limit.

I think you're right QL. That just means there's a better chance that people make it past the Hold'em round - no all-ins in the first hand. :)

Reminder - game is tonight at 8:00pm ET. Let's have a good "tourn"out!

No poker for me this week. I have to work late both Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Hope to be back next Wednesday though. Let us who aren't there Wednesday night know if Poker Prodigy22 shows up and continues offering his sage wisdom on heads up play when it comes to NL Hold'em. :D

I am definitely wearing this on my next several trips to Europe! Haven't gotten it, but am really looking forward to it now!

I see there's a tournament that starts at 9:00 p.m. ET tomorrow, but there's no mention of "Flyertalk" on it...

Edited: Ah, now people are playing HORSE... UGH!!! :( I want Hold 'Em

Edited Again: Ah, I thought today was the 10th.. my idiocy once again rears its ugly end!

Tonight's HORSE game

the FullTilt server seems to be down, so I guess our game will be voided? I'll update when i know more.

Connection problems?

Is anyone else having connection problems? I was connected, playing at a $0.05/$0.10 NL table, just won a big hand, and suddenly everything froze. The FTP application shut itself down and now when I restart, it won't connect, even though my internet connection is fine and nothing's changed on my end.

I sent an email to support, but thought I'd try here as I know others are trying to play too....

Anyone know what server or address it's trying to connect to? It doesn't seem to have any kind of network test tool like the Party client.

Hopefully I won't be blinded off....

Thanks!
Rich
