Sweetpea - you just moved up the money list! i accidentally put you at the bottom with $20, but really you won $30. Congrats on a nice finish in just your second real money tournament. That was a great heads up match!
P.S. Jaimito is the real pro |

Idea
I just had an idea. What if we do a heads-up tournament? Full Tilt has 2-person tournaments for $10+$.50. We could do it just like the Heads-Up Poker Championship that was on NBC last May (or if you didn't see that, just think NCAA march madness bracket). We could seed people for position (based on current money standing?) or just blind draw. Suppose we got 16 people that wanted to do it: Round 1 would have 8 matches with 16 people entering with $10.50, and 8 winners would get $20. Round 2 would have 4 matches between the 8 winners of Round 1 for $20+$1 each (basically the winners would "re-invest" their round 1 winnings, so they are only out $10.50 + $1 for the round 2 entry fee). So Round 2 would produce 4 winners with $40 each. Round 3 will be another $20 match between the 4 winners of round 2, and the other $20 is their prize for making it to the final 4. The two winners of Round 3 would then play a $30 match for the championship (and pocket another $10 for making it to the championship. To put it another way, the payouts would be as follows (with entry fees ignored for simplicity):
Places 5-16 = $0 Places 3-4 = $20 2nd Place = $30 1st Place = $90 The other thing that's nice about this setup is that once the bracket is set, we can coordinate with our match partner for a good time to play. What do you think? |

Got killed again last night....I was trying to do too many things at once and not able to pay much attention (That's the excuse I'm sticking to). See you guys next week! annerj Where, sadly, my pocket queens did not hold up to Jerry's river kings on a three-way all-in (the other all-in was pocket 10s, if I recall). So even though I lost, it was a heck of an exciting way to go!!! |
Head to head may be the only way I'm able to play much longer, provided we can choose an alternate night to play. Classes start back up on Wednesday, October 26th and until they break again Wednesday evenings will be spent earning my BBA.

That was a brutal hand. Three aces on the flop and I'm sitting there with K Q, IIRC (could have been a Q and something else). Either way, what are the odds that someone has an ace in the hole with three showing? Gotta be pretty high. So, I took the gamble that Sweetpea was bluffing and went all in, thinking that if he didn't have the ace the very least I was looking at was a split pot. Then when the cards turn over, there it is. :( I was drawing dead, but a Q came on the river to give me a boat - aces over queens. But I finished 5th, which was better than last week. As Bill Murray says, "Well, at least I've got that going for me." :) Sincerely, William R. Sanders Customer Service Coordinator Starwood Preferred Services [email protected] |
