And thanks
The BBQ is scheduled for Friday night, but my be delayed due to weather if people get stuck in DUT. Nothing has been firmed up for Saturday or Sunday. Saturday may be good for the State Fair as it runs late that night and many attending the assault on the "Wall O’ Wine™", err...I mean BBQ, may not be able to get up early to head out.

Wait to see what Jackal & Beckoa decide, which should be very soon.

Oh!!!! Wait!!!! We are dealing with "Jackal Time™"

Boy, that was quick.

The drill now will be to stay out at the Alyeska resort the night before we head to DUT, do the hot tub looking up the mountain, dry off, and head up to Seven Glaciers for dinner.

If anyone who likes that sort of thing is in ANC and free on Tuesday for dinner, let me know and I will reserve a seat for him/her to join us.

She's been there, done that. She is of the opinion, and I must admit that I agree, that a bottle of good wine and dinner at the Seven Glaciers now trumps everything in Alaska that is already "been there, done that."

Maybe the one exception to that might be an extended visit to the "Wall o' Wine."

I'm sorry, I've currently had a few too many glasses and a few too many dinner platters in the Emirates F lounge in DXB. So forgive me if I don't come to a decision in the next few dozen hours.

This might be useful for those who haven't booked tix yet

Normally an AA guy, but I'm considering booking SEA-ANC o/w on DL. Certainly a nice deal for F!

I am hoping to be in BER during August/September, so I may be able to drop across for the first night in ANC. I will know if it is possible in the next month or so.

BET, perhaps? (Though why anyone would be hoping to be in the armpit of Alaska leaves me scratching my head ). Or perhaps you meant Bettles (BTT), which I understand to be slightly nicer than Bethel (although it's a tiny town that I'd be curious how someone from Australia has even heard about!). (BTW, the weather in central Alaska seems to be nice today--in the low to mid 80s Fahrenheit!)

Or are you looking to head to Berlin via ANC? Somewhat of an unorthodox routing, but please know you are always welcome! (And we do have nonstop flights to Germany on Condor in the summer.)

It's 56 in ANC! But apparently 86 in FAI. Wild.

And speaking of Condor, just saw it at the airport an hour or so ago.

I've personally witnessed 96 degrees in Fairbanks. The locals were visibly melting, but at the time, I lived in California (this was two decades ago, before I had moved to Alaska) and would have thought nothing of it except that our hotel didn't have air conditioning (who needs it in Alaska?!), which made sleeping somewhat miserable...
