Hopefully you are on a redeye on Sept. 5 or you will miss the BBQ & assault on the "Wall O' Wine™" .

Hint...the wall always wins

Yes, I will miss them, unfortunately. I need to get to NY/NJ for Labor Day weekend activities with my family (children and grandchildren). I'm leaving Anchorage Saturday morning at 6 am.

can anyone (beckoa?) elaborate on the "optional" activities in the works for 9/7?

if i can find someone to all but gift me a couple of expiring 2014 upgrades i am trying to book flights. on 9/7 my desired departure has U space open but on 9/8 it doesn't right now. if fishing "locally" to ANC is in the works for 9/7 i'd rather take the 9/8 flight and roll the dice on U opening later.

Nothing concrete has been planned yet. But I'll be around and always enjoy a good trip Either for something in a local river or a bit further out.

Silvers should still be good in Whittier, light to done on the Kenai and done everywhere else by then. Steelhead (catch & release) on the Kenai iirc will be fun. Plenty to keep you busy & happy for a couple of days.

Thanks. I'll keep it in mind. Hopefully they will open up U on Tuesday for my desired flight and it will be a non issue (iss-U?)

well i managed to scrounge up a couple of expiring AS upgrade codes so i guess i am coming. i need to decide whether to book a round trip from LAX or an open jaw LAX-ANC-SEA. will get my connecting flights later. either way i am coming on 9/4 in the evening and likely departing to SEA during day on 9/7 or on the 9/8 LAX redeye.

stupid B6 has a $99 one way SEA-ANC on 9/4 which is mighty tempting for the price.

also, i talked to bse118, who might show up as well but he will not confirm until later.

I thought we were using that as the suggested activities list?

Assistance Rendered - The Director of Public Safety advised an intoxicated and obnoxious man at the airport to sit down and be quiet instead of disrupting airline personnel. After a brief time-out, the man had calmed down and left the area.
I can't believe I was so drunk that I forget that happened...

like the 'time out' bit. But shocked you made it to DUT w/o us!

And I'm not so sure the ID portion is that 'new' either

I guess I was pissed that there are no upgrades on the ANC-DUT flights.
