- Thu 2nd: 7pm Welcome Drinks [Grand Hyatt Fukuoka (TBC)] followed by Yatai food stalls

So sad. I have officially cancelled my flights. I had BA F traveling east to west from JFK then continuing the circle on CX in F.

Yes, especially if any will be coming in a little late--my connecting flight schedule got moved an hour later, so now arriving at 8pm (domestic), no checked bags, will hop into taxi and shoot over to Hilton.

For those of us who are taking the train from Tokyo to FUK, I am suggesting taking Nozumi N29 leaving Tokyo Station at 11:30 am arriving Hakata at 4:39 pm. I know I had mentioned taking a slightly later train, but it seems this schedule would get us into FUK with plenty of time to get to hotels and ready for evening drinks.. I'll be splurging on Green Car accommodations. Now, how can I prepurchase my ticket????

Three or four people are arriving on NH2145 (20:05) and two people on JL3057 (21:35) on Thursday. If anyone is on these flights and planning to join welcome drinks or the yatai crawl, they may like to share a cab to the Grand Hyatt. It should cost about 1550-1750 yen.

Half-day trip to Dazaifu - Friday, 3 April
Friday's trip to Dazaifu will not be 'organised' but if you want to travel as a group I suggest the 11:00AM train from Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) station. The station is connected to Tenjin station on the airport subway line or a short bus ride from the GH. We'll need to change at Nishitetsu Futsukaichi station to this train for a 7-minute ride to Dazaifu. The fare is 400 yen one way and you can use a Suica. The Northern Kyushu Rail Pass is not valid for this trip.

Nishitetsu Futsukaichi station - arr. 11:14
Nishitetsu Futsukaichi station - dep. 11:22
Dazaifu station - arr. 11:29

I think, this stylish Starbucks is worth a visit. 
I'll attend the trip to Dazaifu, even if it's not organized.
