Working on travel arrangements right now and trying to find NC TATL that I can connect to DXB on. I don't want to fly in coach on Aeroflot, but just may do that if needed.

Where is everyone staying? Is there a particular area that we should be looking at or is it something that doesn't really matter i.e. we will all be able to congregate quite easily?

I usually stay at the Hilton Dubai Creek for a couple of days and then head out to the Hilton Jumeirah for the beach / marina

Creek area is good for the souks etc Jumeirah obviously for the beach but the walk has a lot of restaraunts now opened.

Doesn't really matter though, it's easy to get around, taxis are cheap and the metro is up and running

One thought, if you like a "drink" then it's worth looking at exec level rooms with access to the lounge, booze is extortionate in Dubai.

I've not had much interest in the Afternoon Tea (only 3!), so I think I'll leave it to individuals to organise rather than making it part of the 'DO'.

Cheers,
Rick

Rick

I wouldn't get too concerned. The DO is still an eternity away for some and I'm sure interest will pick up a lot closer to the date.

I am heading to DXB next week to check on some hotels, meet some folks, look at some possible activities etc

I'll provide an update in a week or so...

Cheers

SIMON

Well, I snagged a refundable award ticket that gets me in at 23:45 on 6/23 (LH630 F) and out at 02:45 on 6/27 (EK213 J). Not sure if this is my final plan yet, but since I lose the ability to book EK with CO miles at the end of March, I will have to lock in by then.

I guess this makes me Gold.

There was a previous post about arriving late on Thu (since it was indicated we'd meet up Thu afternoon) -- should I be stalking the ANA tool to find a Wed flight instead?

Also, since I know little of Dubai geography, which of the listed hotels would be most convenient for the DO?

Just updated everything. There's still plenty of time (nearly 3-months) so expect the numbers to change dramatically. I think we'll probably end up with 40 people...

I definitely would be interested and would wear a hat , but my plans are still not set, and that is why I am a silver. Once I am a gold, I am at the tea with my hat and white gloves
