Given that this is the DXB DO, I'd imagine a lot of people would be flying in on EK (no?)

Anyway, for those unfamiliar with the fares etc, keep in mind that it's oftentimes quite expensive flying into DXB, and much better value if you add on a leg to anywhere (Middle East, S Asia, SE Asia) depending on the extra time and money you have. And on how many additional tier miles you want.

Feel free to PM me if you need any help with this.

It's going to be hot, hot, hot!

If I'm back at home by then, I'll be there - but that makes me only a maybe for now, I'm afraid.

I guess that makes me a definite.

The Le Meridian has an advance purchase rate of AED260++, which is about 55 quid!

Cheers,
Rick

Might be worth pointing out the following properties don't participate in SPG:

Residence Deira by Le Mridien - Dubai
Le Mridien Dubai - Dubai
Le Mridien Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina - Dubai
Le Royal Mridien Beach Resort & Spa - Dubai
Le Mridien Fairway - Dubai
The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina - Dubai

Don't I get to be silver for being a maybe?

I'm a possible as well, can't say I enjoy it at that time of year but got friends I need to visit sometime this year.

Probably in on KLM and staying at one or both of the Hiltons

I've saved money several times by flying into AUH and getting a cab the rest of the way, not with EK though

Ooh, just saw this thread. Count me in as interested (need to check flight availability). I have been looking for something fun to do for my birthday (6/27) and this would definitely fill the bill.

Hotels can be ridiculously cheap at this time of year in Dubai. We even got a night at Burj-al-Arab for about 400 a few years ago.

A 'standard' 5 star hotel will be between 50-100.

Those prices will treble at least in the high season.

Cheers,
Rick
