Count me in as a maybe - I'm not sure if I will be in the country around those dates (will probably be in Texas), but if I am, I will definitely make it (and will update accordingly).

It usually starts as afternoon tea, but ends up as evening cocktails as well.

It's like doing the Eiffal Tower in Paris, cheesy, but it's go to be done

I'd take the organisation of this on if you agree.

Cheers,
Rick
Rick I'm guessing you are referring to the Burj Al Arab Hotel (famous for its Afternoon Tea) when you say Burj? Seems few members are confusing it with Burj Khalifa.

P.S. "Burj" means tower in Arabic and is not the name of a distinct building

Hoping Rick means the Burj Al Arab......but is there a fee just to walk into the lobby? Seem to recall hearing that....

Yeah. I just meant that I wouldn't be flying EK because they don't serve TLV. I'm still possibly coming and if I do come it would be with RJ unless I've relocated to MEL by then.

In the past you could pay something like 30 USD to enter and roam around the lobby. Now, you need to be staying at the hotel, or have a breakfast/lunch/ dinner reservation, or what I think is the cheapest option, is to go for high tea, which costed over 100 USD last I checked.

The brunch at the Burj is currently about USD 135 excl. alcohol.

The Burj Khalifa has recently opened the world's highest restaurant (though I think EK First is probably higher), and the minimum spend per head is USD 120.

Exclamation

Canadians are warned about the UAE and high visa fees for other nations' citizens.
