What a shame we missed this one by a week. I've been to FT Doos on 5 continents, and this one sounded like a blast. Those exit slides on a A380 are a real experience I bet.
Hope we can talk some of you over to our annual OzFest! Number #9 is the next one.
If anyone is still around town next week and has time to catch up for a drink etc, Margo and are arriving this Sunday for 3 nights and staying at Four Points Sheikh Zayed Road.
40 hours on planes from SYD via the USA is the LONNNNG way to get there!
We do not fly out until the midnight flight Wed 6th to IAD - connecting to Argentina, (via LAX - dont ask!) so we sure have a few hours to fill before that on Wednesday evening.

I'd just say that your hotel is a bit 'in between' things. But everywhere in Dubai is a cheap and easy taxi ride.
Cheers,

Rick,
Sitting here in UA RCC in LAX now headed to Dubai later afternoon.
Thanks for info on hotel.
We needed a few extra Starwood noghts so that seemed a decent deal. Says it has a really neat rooftop bar, so that was the sealer!
We only have a couple days so already booked Abu Dhabi for a one long day, and east coast for another long day.
Final day there, Wed 6th we booked that Burj Tower, plus a city tour. So we are about that evening if anyone from FT is about.

Watched the Mission Impossible 4 movie trailer the other day. The Burj is shown in it (aka, Tom Cruise is trying to get down from the outside it I think).
Cheers.

Sorry about the timing.
No from DBX, we fly to IAD and LAX, and then an hour later, take the same flight back LAX-IAD, and then to Buenos Aires, and then wind back to SYD.
We spent the day in Abu Dhabi today ... very interesting.
If anyone is about locally in the next day or so, please drop me an email.

Just wanted to say congrats to the organizers eightblack and ung1. I'm sorry to miss it as it was my own fault. I don't check the community buzz at all and strolled in too late as I left for my summer vacation back to the states. I'm in for a Dubai EK experience next year or whenever you have the next one.
Well done.

I was informed that there was an identification error in the earlier version of the video I uploaded of the EK crew training simulator that put us through various emergency scenarios during last Junes Dubai Do, so I corrected it and just uploaded it to YouTube:
