Just got back to Accra after a rather miserable flight on Emirates. I almost made one of the crew cry after she woke me up and I snapped at her. Looks like you guys had more fun than me this morning!

PS. I'm still recovering from yesterday's brunch. I skipped dinner last night and both breakfast and lunch today, and I'm still feeling full! ^

...so yeah, drooling, and hoping/praying/pleading that there's an repeat of this next year!!!

That was a fantastic experience! Thank you to Emirates and especially Eightblack for getting it all organized. Really cool! Plus, now that I have my Nujoum star I think I will get some incredible service!

Here is a short clip from the simulator! I didn't get the part where we had to ditch in the water, but at least we survived! Phew!

ps. the video is not public, but I can still remove it if there are any objections by EK. Cheers!

I claim to know everything about Emirates, and even I learnt a few new things today. That's how great it was, and props to everyone at EK who was involved for giving us the opportunity to experience everything we did.

Also, big thank you to mrtdxb for hosting the cocktail party!

For those who don't make it to dinner tomorrow, see you at next year's Dubai DO, or sooner!

Well, just woke up after completely crashing by the time I hit the hotel after leaving mrtdxb tremendously kind cocktail and BBQ party at his house on Palm Island early. I was falling asleep in the cab, but kept pushing myself awake just to see the sights of nighttime Dubai on the rider home.

To mrtdxb, I again want to thank you for opening up your home and showing us another side of life in Dubai. I hope the rest of your family weren't too aghast at us all. And it was a pleasure to tickle some long-unused neurons and to fire them up again by speaking Russian with your wife and sister-in-law. Just lovely sitting out back by the canal with an actual cool breeze blowing shortly after the sun set. I was sorry to leave so early.

It's just been a terrific trip so far. Kudo's, again, to Eightblack. You know how to put together a Do, my friend.

See those of you still here at dinner tonight. I'm now off to catch some more zzzzzzzz's.

I forgot about this event but totally should've gone. I could've had the setup to go by re-arranging my job change. Next year, sacrificing for my ungrateful job won't be as important as travel.

As some of you will be travelling later tonight, the dinner will be held at 8pm.
The place is called Labneh and Zaatar, it is located at the clock tower square, I will vist the place at lunch time and will try to book around 15 seats, will keep our leader EIGHTBLACK informed.

Everything is said already. But once again: Special props to eightblack for organizing such an event. It was (yeah, it ended for me already ) amazing!

And of course also thanks to mrtdxb for holding the nice BBQ with a massive amount of beer, burger and sushi!

I will start with a big round of applause for eightblack and ung1 for organising this wonderful DO. They went all out and did a marvelous job especially given they are both based out of Dubai. Food and drink was plenty and of top quality...... It was my first but will definitely not be the last. It was nice to finally put face to handle and everyone was truly pleasant.

A special thank you to EK, everyone from the Skywards team, Service Delivery and not to forget the wonderful Pursers who took care of us. It was truly a great experience that money can't buy. Thanks to the senior management who took time out of their day off to be present for the event.

Last but not least cheers mrtdxb for being a gracious and generous host to invite us all for a bbq at your humble abode. I'm sure all will join me in saying we appreciate it, it was a great party and hope you didn't regret it afterwards

See you guys at dinner tonight....

As a first timer with do's, I had a really enjoyable day yest, great events and company. Massive appreciation for all the effort you put into organising this simon, ung1 and the EK team - you made it look easy which I'm sure it wasn't. It was insightful and fun beyond anything I expected! Hearty thanks for the kind hospitality from mrtdxb, and for the idyllic location and food!

Broke up a heated argument between a passenger and a taxi controller on the trek home, it was just like a Saturday night back in the UK... haha
