Interested==would be my first DO. Unclear if elderly parent has plans to be in Hong Kong end of October (extended family wedding plans...), if so, I'll be in Asia via HK! SPG/Marriott/Hyatt hotel cards -OK. More important: non- smoking, mildew free rooms: my fault for not checking first (tired, befuddled.)

Put me as Interested!
Attendees: me and a +1
Hotel: SPG preference (but not required)
Have only spent about a day in Shanghai before and would love to see more of it. November tends to be a good time to travel for me, but am not able to confirm this early.

Okay - Color us as positive as you can get
We have stuck our neck out and will be arriving in Biejing on 27 October, joining a tour group going to Xi’an, Guilin, Chongqing, cruise Yangtze river to Yichang, then fly to Shanghai arriving evening of 6 November. See some sights in Shanghai and then say goodby to the group and be ready to rock and roll as early as Wednesday 9 Nov.
Looking forward to a fun time

Are you serious? I would love to visit Tibet, but isn't November too cold for it already? We can ask Spaceman about his tour to Xian to see the terracotta warriors at the DO... On my to-do list as well.

Somehow missed this thread until now.....anyways, I'm in.
Attendance: Definite barring an act of God
# of attendees: me and the missus
Hotel Preference: SPG or IC - I think The Royal Meridien in particular would be a good choice just for the location. Quick access to nearly everything of interest.
Other Suggested activities: We're actually no longer in Shanghai itself but still nearby. We'd be more than happy to just act as the quasi-hosts along with our Flyerteas 朋友们。

Attendance: Interested
# of attendees: 1
Hotel Preference: Anything local or international.
Other Suggested activities: I would be interested in some kind of extended activities beyond the main event, since it's a long way to travel and I want to do more than just a weekend.

I haven't been on that train nor to the TAR -- got fed up with the visa requirements and prices. Have people who could organise it if you really want...
Xi'an would be easy.
