And I'll say it again: No. In fact, I'll make it a little clearer: GET STUFFED. Since you claim to know ASL, I'm sure you're familiar with a gesture involving one's middle finger; that's my answer.
I am NOT going to stop flying and I am NOT going to stop trying to reverse the disgusting "security" procedures that are currently being used at airports. The procedures are stupid. They are not well-thought out and they are unnecessary.
News flash, brightboy: An airport is not a courthouse. Maybe you're happy in some sicko "All Security All the Time" world, but I'm not. As for the policeman pulling me over analogy, I don't get pulled over every other trip to work. I don't get randomly pulled over and searched. Maybe you'd like random, no-knock searches of people's homes, too? It would be for the 'public good'!
If you want to live in a prison society, I have three words for you: MOVE TO CHINA.

whine whine whine...is that all your capable of doing?? I'll say again, STOP FLYING IF YOUR UNHAPPY WITH SECURITY. I know American Sign Language and French, do I need to say it in one of those languages??
You keep missing the point, security procedures are here to stay. Do you also do a whine whine "it's all about me" dance when entering a courthouse, you get screened there too. You sir, do not have an inherent right to prance through an airport however you please. It is a public place with procedures for a public good. You don't run the show, THEY do. Do you mouth off at the police officer when he/she pulls you over? Based on your whiny attitude about airport security, I bet you do. It's about d*** time Americans got a kick in the pants, it was LONG overdue.</font>

Maybe business people are the problem here, not "stupid" security measures as you put it. The only ones I see/hear whining about "stupid" security are the business people, not the students, not the blue collar folks, not the 90% of people that keep the airlines affloat. I say we do what East Jersey state prison did years ago (and probably still does), you refuse to be searched when entering the premises, you turn around and go home. Frankly i'm more worried about some drunk businessman hitting a gate agent than I am about a prisoner attacking me when doing field work. Don't tell me the two don't correlate either, because they are both secure environments, risks associate with each. Let's face it spiff, you don't have to fly anywhere, you can tele-commute until your blue in the face. I'm guessing you have a laptop and a wireless connection. Do us all a favor, USE IT.

I travel strictly for pleasure. Perhaps you should consider another profession because your analytical skills are seriously lacking.

How cute, the middle finger answer. I'd counter with the two fingers slapped backward against the forehead gesture. If you don't feel the procedures work, then the burden of proof is in your lap to prove it. I don't have to prove they do work. The gov't is responsible for ensuring the safety of all public venues, airport or courthouse. I'm quite pleased with the gov't decisions that so utterly p*** you off. Have a nice evening both of you and happy travels. I pity the TSA agents that have to deal with either of you.

The TSA has a DIRECT impact on my decision to DRIVE to EWR, rather than fly.
I would rather drive the 4 hours than put up with the hassle of dealing with the TSA.
So, who is the idiot now?
GO AWAY TROLL.

Actually, I am quite pleasant to deal with and have even been thanked for knowing the procedures. I am sure this might be difficult for someone like you to understand but, it is very possible to express your displeasure with things without being insulting, aggressive or abusive. The ability to do so often has a possitive, rather than negative effect, sometimes even resulting in improvements to an otherwise ineffective process.

I have people complain rarely about the whole security process. It seems to me that everywhere you go you go through some sort of process.
Six Flags- you walk through metal detector, if you alarm you are wanded. And ALL bags are checked. Don't ever remember a terrorist activity there...
Concert arenas - Everyone is wanded and all bags are checked
Sporting events - Everyone is wanded and all bags are checked.
Courthouses - Everyone walks through metal detectors and all bags are checked.
To me this would seem more like a violation of "civil liberties" than what we do.
We are just following directives to keep airliners safe. All rules are not good ones, but the general idea of being wanded and having bags xrayed and possible searched seems minimal compared to other arenas you attend.
Just my 2 cents.

We don't want it to expand any further than it already is. I went to a baseball game last week. No wand, glance in friend's bag for beer bottles. No x-ray, no pat-down.
An airport is not a courtroom. I don't want to go to the mall and get treated as if I were in court. The same is true with any other public place, including airports.
