A lot of questions about the "re-posters" of the information and what can be done about them.
At least she said there's nothing she can do. :o |
I respect Dent a lot for pressing them on why they won't even give Congress a copy of the SOP.

Taking a break now. Very strange hour just passed. I am losing faith in government faster than I though possible.

And exactly what extra does Rossides do during the busy travel season? Does she go and work along side with TSO's? Monitor staffing levels? Personally respond to travelers' complaints? At least there can't be any fluff stories about the TSA this holiday season because any media outlet will just hound them on this SOP debacle and not want to discuss anything else.

My blog post about attending the hearings today might just be my longest blog post ever. For that I apologize. Still, the number of ridiculous comments made today is truly disappointing. It is clear that the congressfolk involved in dealing with the TSA have no idea what is really going on out there in the real world and that the TSA has no problem ignoring legal and appropriate requests from Congress to produce information.
The agency is, quite simply, completely out of control. And it doesn't seem that there is anything to be done about it. Even the three rum minis on the train ride home tonight haven't really helped to console me about the fiasco. It really is much worse than it seems, which is hard to believe because it seems so bad to begin with. :( :td: http://www.wanderingaramean.com/2009...t-tsa-sop.html |

I spoke with her as well.
Hearings should be starting any minute now (only 11 minutes late so far). Apparently there is a vote going on or something. I've read the prepared testimony thus far and it is nothing surprising. I've also been told to expect a mild reprimand for not reporting this to the Inspector General. I've told them that I'd absolutely do it again this way if it happened again. Oops...got sidetracked...hearings just started. |

Even reasonably drunk I cannot muster the joy to get over their farcical existence. So very, very sad. |

They say they've been giving briefings and that they are willing to give more, but they won't let the document out of their hands. It is a complete farce.

What do you do (if you care to share)?
As I explained to the Public Affairs guy I talked with at the hearings, I have a rather significant vested interest in them getting security right. I'm more likely than most to be the guy who blows up. But that doesn't mean I have to take the bollocks they dish out as though it is the gospel. Because it isn't and that is pretty obvious. |

In the real world I'm an IT systems integrator. I mostly build computer networks for law firms though I have a few clients in other industries as well. And I'm an aerophile. I love to fly and I love to go places, even if I don't really stop while I'm there.

Interesting. So I guess you have that "advanced computer knowledge" that allowed you to remove the redactions. :D

The same "advanced computer knowledge" the average 10 year old across the world have to have found this out. Being that it was a word search that brought this to light, maybe any 5 year old.
