I was approved for 2 Chase cards today. I applied for the IHG card first, I wasn't instantly approved so I called the reconsideration line & they only wanted to verify my identity before approval. Immediately afterward I applied for the Marriott Chase and had to go through the exact same process. Chase was aware that I applied for 2 but didn't care, and they approved me for the second one after verification. I didn't have any other Chase cards though.

Just starting a mini AOR of hotel cards. Approved for that Best Western last night and now this 80k IHG was an instant approval.

What should I hit next? I have no other hotel CC's other than the 2 i just mentioned above.

thanks

Club Carlson? The annual fee is not waived but you can do a lot with that many points and the last-night-free award benefit.

Completed min spend on IHG immediately after receiving card and 80K + points posted on first statement.
Says on the info packet that comes with your card
"A Free Night* every year"
"3 As an IHG Rewards Club credit cardmember, you qualify for an upgrade to IHG Rewards Club Platinum Elite status for as long as you remain a Select cardmember, and as long as your IHG Rewards Club membership account remains in good standing. Please allow 6 to 8 weeks for your upgrade to be applied to your IHG Rewards Club account."
no perks for IHG you have to have ambassador status to get anything from Palazzo as they are not directly a IHG hotel, they have their own loyalty group and even then royal ambassador doesn't get too much...The IHG card will get you a free room with the yearly cert, the 50K redemption for a room is wayyy too much, but they run occasional discounts of only 25K...also resort fee is hit or miss with IHG redemptions, as I have had it charged once and comped twice....better results by joining the Grazie players club in their casino and getting free or cheap rooms through them...add the $20 trick for better views of the strip.

Can I use the annual free night from IHG Chase credit card on Palazzo or Venetian hotel in vegas? They are part of Intercontinental hotel alliance, but I am not sure about their relationship with IHG.

Can someone please clarify..?

How long did it take them to post?

Bill my first month was around $1325 -- the 1325 points posted on 10/3, but the bonus points still have not posted.

I called IHG and they said it takes 6 to 8 weeks. Is that timing consistent with your experience?

I stayed at the Palazzo this August using the AmEx Plat Fine Hotels and Resorts travel site on a Monday. The rate was $149 a night. With the $100 food and beverage credit, free breakfast for 2, and a slew of coupons they gave us as an AmEx member (2 for 1 drinks, etc.), the perks ended up being more than the room itself. I would go AmEx Plat.

That being said, I am getting this IHG deal to replace my old PC card. Platinum for $49/year is hard to beat.

I just added this to the wiki:

NOTE: If you complete your $1000 required spending within 7-10 days of your statement close, the bonus may not post until your SECOND statement, even if the spend-based points do post on the first statement. This is normal behavior for Chase and is not worth a phone call.

Thanks! Sorry I missed that

It also appears to be exactly what happened -- had 2 US Air charges for mile gift/100% bonus for $1100+ in the last 2 or 3 days of the statement

Can you transfer your IHG points to airline miles and if so which ones?

Note that there's an entire thread devoted to the churnability (or lack thereof) of cards across the Chase range of offerings: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/chase...solidated.html
