Just making sure, but did you use a Chase card when you made the purchase in the UR mall?

Yes, I used my Sapphire Preferred card.

Mommypoints suggests that she get points from UR on GC. T&C says no, any data points?

The team at Ultimate Rewards phoned me this morning and remedied the situation to my satisfaction. They truly stepped up to the plate.

Glad to learn Chase finally took care the situation.

Do you mind to let us know what kind of solution(s) the UR team has provided? Since at first they seem to steadfastly refusing to restore your hotel booking and made you to deal with its provider HotelBeds.

Ultimate Rewards (Connections Loyalty) actually circumvented HotelBeds, phoned Beaches/Sandals to explain the situation, and was able to secure a room for me at Beaches Negril, even though Beaches reservation system was showing no availability. There were no additional charges imposed on me, and I am being upgraded several tiers to a suite. Overall, I am quite pleased with the outcome, albeit after several dozen phone calls and emails.

If I could have only one credit card, this is the one I would get. I'm a frugal guy who hates paying fees, but for this card it's the first time I didn't feel bad paying it. I didn't even call in to try to get the annual fee waived (as I did for the CapitalOne Venture card).

I like it but without the 50K sign up bonus I never would have applied for it as I have other cards with better rewards and/or better perks.

It's been a year since I had a Venture card, but if memory serves me, didn't the Venture card earn at a rate of two points per dollar charged? The Sapphire earns at a one to one rate except for travel and dining that earns at two points per dollar spent.

But you can only redeem Venture card points for 1 cent per point, whereas the Sapphire UltimateRewards points can be transferred to airlines and hotel partners. I'm planning on redeeming them for Star Alliance premium cabin travel, which is a much better value regarding cents per mile. Also I feel the UltimateRewards mall is better, and I had better experiences with their customer service. Lastly, the combination with the free Chase Freedom card is also great (earn 5x miles in certain categories, then transfer them to the Sapphire account).

How long does it take to transfer Chase UR pts to UA miles ?

I did the transfer yesterday and I still have not received
the miles in the UA account today.

It should be pretty much instant... I just did a transfer a few weeks ago and my United balance was updated within minutes. Perhaps it's time to call Chase to inquire about the transfer.

The combo of freedom and sapphire pref is insane. I'm earning a ton of points this way and i totally agree and think it's one of the best 1-2 punches out there right now.

My annual fee is coming up on my SP Visa. I'm planning on applying for the SP MC, and canceling the Visa then. Will I get the 40K bonus after spend on the MC since I already got it on the Visa? And will the annual fee be waived 1st year for the MC, since it's already been waived for the Visa?

Thx for your help.
