50% bonus? Do you mean the double miles for travel expenses (which would be a 100% bonus)?

Clarify pls?
I've never used the Ultimate Rewards mall before.
Tonight I logged into Ultimate Rewards (using my Chase ID and password), navigated to Travelocity, and bought a ticket using my CSP card. Does this mean I will get a total of 4x points on the cost of the ticket? There wasn't anything else I had to do, was there? Glad I browed this thread today too. It hadn't even occured to me, in fact I bought the ticket this morning on the Delta site, but I was able to refund it since it was under 24 hours. |

Successful Completion of Terms.
I applied and got my Shapire card at the end of July 2012. I already had several Chase cards - United/Continental, Marriot Rewards. I met the spend limit of $3,000 and wrote their Customer Service. The response I got is below:
Thank you for contacting Chase. The offer is for 40,000 bonus points after you spend $3,000.00 within 93 days from the account open date. The bonus will be posted to your account within 1-2 billing statements, after you meet the spending criteria. I would like to confirm that you met the spending criteria, hence, the bonus will be reflecting on your 11/03/2012 statement. I would appreciate your patience in this matter. If you have any further questions, please reply using the Secure Message Center. Thank you, Hemchandra Patil Customer Service Specialist 1-800-493-3319 I am quite satisfied and still deciding what to do with the points. |

That's the way it should work. Plus another 7% on half the points (only the purchase-based ones, not the mall ones) at year-end.

I'll be applying for the MC version soon and canceling the Visa version to avoid annual fee. Will I get the sign up bonus on the MC since I got the Visas bonus earlier this year?

Similarly, I want to exchange my Ink Bold for Ink Plus next year. But does that mean I have to manually cancel the IB and apply for the IP? That would result in a hard credit pull. Can I just call Chase and tell them I want to switch IB for IP so that I can hold a balance? Any reports on someone doing this and still getting the sign-on bonus? |
Quick question:
My wife just signed up for the CSP card, if she was to get an extra card for me, should I still be able to sign up and get the bonus in the future? It would just speed up hitting the 3,000 dollar spend requirement. Thanks |

I've wondered about this type of thing as well.

Being an AU (authorized user) doesn't compromise your ability to get a full account on your own, complete with signup bonus.

In short, can be done but avoid converting if you can. |

Would be a tough task. When you sign up, you'll get the points but when agents convert a card, you won't qualify for the bonus. Happened to me. Wanted to get the Explorer card so called them. Agent just converted me over and said all is well. Of course did not get the bonus. Took me a lot of calls to straighten it out and get the bonus when I explained that I actually had called to apply for the new card and the agent just converted me, which is all true.

It sounds like this was a legitimate mistake, but could be kind of a clever way to avoid a credit pull as well. I'm kind of surprised Chase coughed up the bonus.
+1^ I agree. I don't have these cards, but I do have the SW Chase card, and they originally signed me up for the wrong bonus when I called in. It took several phones and alot of follow up along with screen prints (w/dates) to prove my point. They did cough up the higher bonus I had applied for, but it was def. a piece of work. I'm reading through the threads now to see if I'm interested in the CSP. Not a churner (but it's tempting). However, seems like a lot of work. The card seems like a good way to diversify. So, I am probably not interested in churning for now, but maybe just adding 1 more card (not sure yet). |

Only you can decide if it's worth the trouble. They will credit points though if merchants are coded incorrectly
I was told that they can only go back 3 months, because the statements have to be electronic for the csr to see the merchant code. Anybody been able to go back farther? thru online msg maybe. Oh, and they or merchants make lots of mistakes. Ryan Air, is listed as online transaction not airline, also on lots of foreign restaurants etc... |
