Not sure if I understand your question right. You certainly shouldn't close a Chase card immediately after getting the bonuses. Wait at least 6 months.

Closing Chase cards immediately after bonuses post will net you a nice ride on the blacklist.

Chase doesn't like churners. Don't appear to be one.

Is there a way to "audit" my purchases to ensure that I received double points where applicable. I don't see any indication on my statements. I suppose I could download transactions and try to match them up but was hoping there is a better way.

My Chase card statements show the amount of bonus miles, segregated by category, on each statement. While not itemized by each purchase, it is helpful to determine if you got the bonus you were expecting.

I just got the card and started using the Ulitmate Rewards Mall site for some shopping.

I've received an email confirming my purchase thru the mall for every purchase except one. I looked on the UR site and can't find anywhere to email or call if the extra points don't post.

Do I just call the regular Chase customer service number?

Yep, just call the number on the back of the card and they will manually add the points.

Question on Hotel stays booked through UR Mall.

Does the extra points show up after the stay? because i booked 2 stays in Marriott for dec last week and no points till now and nothing shows on the UR mall activity also.

I just download my statement, add up all of my dining transactions, and then look at the itemized portion to be sure that my dining transaction amount matches (roughly) the amount of bonus points awarded for dining (I give a little leeway in case a place doesn't categorize their restaurant with the appropriate credit card code or whatever....there is sometimes a 25-50 point discrepancy which I don't worry too much about). I do the same for travel as well. I guess its not the most convenient way to do it, but it probably takes me all of 5 minutes to do it (maybe 6, if we ate a lot that month :p)

I am struggling to parse out the benefits.

What type of insurance coverage will the Sapphire Preferred provide for car rentals in Chile and another in Argentina? I have normal car insurance for my own vehicles at home. What does Sapphire preferred add above and beyond this?

If I book a hotel on my own (not through the portal), do I still get 2x rewards if I use my card?

The website T&C in some places seem to say you get it on anything in the travel category, and in other places that you get it on any travel booked through them.

You won't receive the points until the stay has been completed. I'm still waiting on my wife's hotel stay on the 4th of December to hit our UR account. It was an 8 pointer from Holiday Inn and I have a feeling I'm going to have to call in to get the points added.

From my experience, if the points don't hit within 10 business days, they're not going to post. I know this goes against their policy of 8-10 weeks for points to post, but every single time I have noticed the points not hitting my account within two weeks, the points never posted and I had to call in.

Yes, you will get the standard CSP award of 2x points on travel, including hotels. However, if your hotel is on the UR Shopping Mall you should definitely book through the mall. For example if Hyatt is offering 4 points/$ through the mall, you'll stack that bonus of 4pts/$ plus the standard 2pt/$ bonus just for using the CSP card.

Terms and conditions say Jan or Feb. i notice they also now say the 7 percent isn't awarded on bonus points, which is a bummer. I opened my account last Jan and so have been waiting a year for the 7 percent. Not getting the 7 percent on the 50k signup means 3.5k.
