Points.com 2X???

Are miles purchased on Points.com categorized as a travel expense (2X)? Specifically, I want to know if buying US Airways miles on their current 100% promotion qualifies as a travel purchase since the transaction is supposedly handled by points.com. Thank you!

Nope, it will not be coded as travel.

Is the 40,000 points for $3,000 spending in 3 months the best non-targeted offer floating around? Are there any offers that require less than $3,000 in spending?

Well, that stinks. How is the purchase of frequent flyer miles not considered a travel expense? That doesn't make sense.

T.... Based on everything that I have read and seen, the World Mastercards carry the typical red/orange logo, with the World Elite being the only one that carries the silver logo.

I wrote to MasterCard and they explained:

Dear mia,
Thank you for contacting MasterCard. The silver MasterCard Brand Mark is used for our World and World Elite products. The silver mark represents a premium product.

Sincerely,

How long has it been since your return? I have had Chase pull my points after a purchase was returned 60 days after my credit. I wouldn't be surprised to see your points deducted at a later time. When I took advantage of the 10x promo with Home depot all 4 transactions posted correctly in a timely manner including 1 online Internet purchase. Maybe the tracking cookies did not follow when you went to the ultimate rewards portal to home depot?

Sorry for bringing up an old point. But what happens if you've accumulated points from a purchase, then you transfer out the points (which I did) and then the stupid:mad: bluray player starts malfunctioning.

I want to return it but I was wondering what Chase would do since I don't have any points left in my account for them to take away. Don't want get into trouble!

I'd appreciate any insights.

I'm having a dispute over UR mall bonus points for Lowe's purchases in May. I clearly wrote down that there was a 3x bonus in May, but SMC reps are saying there was no bonus (I purchased 2 thermostats from Lowe's.com just to get the points). Short of telling them they're wrong, any suggestions? Anyone else having issues with points being credited from Lowe's in May?

Check HikerT's UR Mall site archives.

Thanks. I replied back via SMC to say "recheck your records" and 2 days later I got an e-mail saying I've been credited the points. I hope this level of service via SMC is a 1-time occurrence - I shouldn't have to chase down points like this.

Got any specific examples? Wondering which ones.

A number of our foreign travel expenses (France railroad, etc) were credited under the merchant code "Office Supplies". I know the T&C state that it's up to the merchant vendor code to offer the correct bonus points, but has anyone had success in having Chase credit the missing bonus points to their account? It's 650 missing points.

Why don't you just cal them or send a secure message? If the merchant name shows obviously that the expense was travel-related (TGV for example), they will probably adjust your points accordingly.

Call Chase and explain to the rep those are for train tickets. I have same issue with Trenatalia, the Italian's national railway system. The merchant is coded as Freight... at least somewhat better than yours being coded as Office Supplies...

A good rep would fix it right on the phone.

SNCF would hardly be obvious to the rep that is French railway company. My guess is the billing is from SNCF, because that is how it shows up on my Citi card's statement.

I would suggest the OP to call instead of SM which tends to get Indian reps while calling inevitably would get US-based reps. The Indian rep for example, refused to fix the non-bonus on purchasing train tickets from Trenalitalia website citing that is coded as Freight despite I replied that it is for passenger tickets. However the phone rep fixed it right away.

I noticed that too. In particular, I see that Barnes and Noble is no longer a participating retailer, which is disappointing because I frequently buy books from them. It used to be at least 5-6 points/$.
