Blueprint has a category for insurance and that's probably what AAA regional insurance codes up under. My No. Cal AAA membership renewal fee showed up under insurance. I think my region uses the same payment portal for online insurance policy payments.

Even travel insurance has appeared under insurance...

Will the 7% yearly bonus still post if I transfer points into miles elsewhere? I want to hit a United tier, but don't want to miss out on the 10,000 points or so..?

This is more of a UR question than a Sapphire Preferred question, but maybe one of you can help me.

Today I noticed some fraudulent activity on my Sapphire Preferred Card. First, I contacted the merchant who after checking the account admitted it must be fraudulent and said they would reverse the charge. Then, I contacted chase who cancelled the card and said they would next-day-air a new card to me.

My old card disappeared from chase online, and a new one has yet to show up. I expected that. What I am most concerned about is my UR balance. When I tried to log in to UR, the only thing that showed up was my debit card (which I never use, and thus have 0 points). Am I being paranoid if I am worried about losing these points? Anyone with a similar experience that can tell me this is either normal or bizarre?

Thanks!

I had a Freedom card that was compromised. Yes the card disappeared from my chase page, the new card appeared after a few days and all the UR points were there. So, I don't think you need to worry.
And what is CF Frost doing with a Chase Visa card?^

Thanks for the info.

Even CFFrost needs to acknowledge that AMEX isn't accepted everywhere!

The 7% bonus is valid on redeemed points as well so you won't be missing out on them if you transfer to United. However, the transferred miles will not help with increasing your status with United.

Just to echo mot29, Mrs. Aces card was compromised a few months ago. Same thing on the website - old card disappeared, new card popped up a few days later and the UR points were all there. No worries. Gotta say that Chase did a good job for us - they detected the fraudulent activity right away (same day as it happened) and called us right away.

I was the one that caught this (the rep even said "wow. it looks like you pay pretty close attention to your accounts.") but, I will say I had a new card in my hand in +/- 24 hrs, and the account, including my points, have reappeared without issue. Chase did a pretty good job handling it.

How to transfer.....

I was trying to transfer some of the UR points to Hyatt and United, but there seems to be no indication, it is possible, anywhere in the UR website. Am I missing something?

Can someone point me to the direction, please...........

What is the exact name of the card(s) that you hold? Transfers to airlines or hotel chains are only offered if you have Sapphired Preferred, Ink Bold, JP Morgan Select or JP Morgan Palladium card. If you hold only a Freedom, Sapphire or Ink Classic card you will not be able to transfer directly, but you can transfer to another Ultimate Rewards account.

Has anyone ever used the "Price Protection" benefit???? I bought a Galaxy Nexus phone from amazon.com for $494 like 6 weeks ago and of course now Google is selling them direct for $399. Since I "found a lower advertized price within 90 days", I filed a claim for $95 under Sapphire Preferred's "Price Protection" benefit just now. The guy on the phone sounded like it would be no problem at all, the $95 price difference was practically a done deal, but the actual paperwork is a little vague about the eligibility of on-line purchases and lower on-line sale prices vs brick and mortar stores and published print ad sale prices. I mailed in all the requested paperwork today and I presume I will be waiting quite a while for the results so I was curious if anyone else has any first hand experience with this benefit.

If it works out just that easy, that's a really cool feature when buying various new gadgets and tech items because you know every time you buy some new gizmo it will be cheaper next week whenever the newer better one comes out.

Strictly going by the language on the benefit guide, you claim could be denied.

"If you buy an eligible item with your card in the United States and see a printed advertisement of it for less at any retail store within ninety (90) days of the original purchase date..."

"The Price Protection benefit does not cover the following items:
Advertisements posted on the Internet"

I saw that too however the guy on the phone was quite specific that the Internet ad was acceptable as long as it was a non auction site. I'm a little skeptical myself and it would not be unheard of for a phone rep to no know what they were talking about but I was extremely specific about the circumstances and he was extremely specific that so long as it was a non auction internet ad it was ok.

In any case I submitted the requested paperwork. I guess I'll just have to wait and see what the final result is.

Is there a way to earn bonus UR points on Amazon gift cards through the UR mall? I tried looking through the UR mall and I don't see any merchants that sell Amazon.com gift cards.
