To clarify, B-LRA/B/C will be retrofitted with new J seats.
According to the CX General Manager of Product, B-LRA won't start until next month.

According to the CX General Manager of Product, B-LRA won't start until next month.
“The first three (aircraft) have the most acute issues with the finishing,” Evans explained, “so next month we will take all the business class seats out of the very first A350-900 and put in a whole new set.”

B-LRO arrival
B-LRO arrives from TLS on its delivery flight in a few hours. En route right now (CX3493).
Anyone know the status of the J seats on this bird? Is it an empty J class bound for HAECO? Or are J seats installed and it's ready to go?

These flights change equipment so often, there is nothing to read into. You cannot really plan what you'll get regionally to TPE, no matter what the schedule says or it was when you booked.
To make matters "worse", cx472 has always been extremely variable, even among tpe flights. We just try to temper everyone's expectations here: you CANNOT guarantee or plan regional equipment on CX.
Some flight #s or routes are emote predictable than others, but TPE is probably the worst. A few TPE flights are more predictable (aka CX474) to at least get a longhaul product, but even then I've had 77W swapped to 772 on that flight for me and later a359 to 77W. You just should not be booking your regional schedule to get certain aircraft, I'm sorry to say.

Quality issues were present when I flew both LRA and LRM this week. Of both, one of the cameras was inoperable. The lavatories were in terrible condition with Scotch tape here and there. On the LRM, one of the lavatories' mirrors had been badly damaged and been repaired with Schotch tape and a note saying "DO NOT OPEN".
Otherwise it was fine. The IFE is a lightyear ahead of the old one.
