The CX A350 was my first reverse herringbone J product and this must be why I was so unimpressed with the seat compared to the rave reviews reverse herringbones usually get. I'm 6'3" 230 and didn't find it that comfortable. Maybe one day I'll get a chance to compare to the 77W.

I'm ambivalent about the seat itself, since I didn't get a chance to try out how well I sleep in it. But the IFE/wifi are definitely better and the cabin comfort level in general is better.

IF all else was equal, I'd do A350 in a heartbeat. It's the best J class on CX for sure and now that I'm getting used to CX planes with WiFi, it sucks when you don't have it. CX's A350 WiFi is just damn good. It's nearly on par with what I've had on that JetBlue "Mint" business class thing. (Only flown once, but I remember it had very good wifi). CX's A350 wifi beats SQ, QR, JL and EK, whom I'm familiar with.
However, a) if you're going for an F upgrade with miles, that is only possible on CX889, and b) CX889 YVR-HKG is just fantastic for sleeping. Depart, watch a brief show, doze off, conk out, sleep 9 hours, breakfast time before landing, full day upon arrival. The US late night departures (SFO, LAX, JFK, EWR, BOS) are just a bit too long flying time to be as perfect as YVR. Obviously the A350 is a daytime departure so different animal.

The advantage of the A350 seat is the design and feature improvements over the old version.
