You're absolutely right. I thought it was separate terminal (it looked pretty seperate every time I passed it) but it's just a separate entrance. I guess that works too as long it's exclusive.

This would be the second Slap in the face in a year of Silver being very attractive with lounge access, after Vivian Lo saying short haul doesnt need flat bed. Non-Diamond MPC will become very unattractive once again.

Is there any space such that CX can have a First/DM+ checkin area and security, and straight through to the Wing First (after renovation)?

I think thats a question for HKIA and Immigration (as to whether they would be okay with staffing an exclusive area) not CX. You could also build another extension where the ubers and taxis pick up in car park 1 (and fix the disaster that is pick up while you're at it), that would lead you straight through the Wing but maybe not First.

That seems a bit awkward for both the pleb DMs and the DMPs. Wouldn't it be better to just have a separate lounge? Or at least like the Wing where you turn left for J and right for F when you come in the main entrance?
Only if they have a reasonable F network would that be useful though.
But if F is full, its full so not sure how they can guarantee it?
Doesn't AF have escorts through the airport who take you through the queue so you just board at your leisure? I think thats the level that they need to be delivering.

maybe CX will try to follow SQ pps club thing where only buying business/first seats using cash qualify.
SQ pps members get certain redemption benefits, guaranteed upgrades and other stuff

I think we can just stop speculating here - I don't think the bulk of FTers have to worry much about the upcoming changes.
If anything (I need to add in a disclaimer here, it's purely my own speculation, entirely and merely
) the lounges are going to be more crowded than before.

If GO still gets mapped to Sapphire, I don't see much that can be taken away. By any chance do you know if GO will also be harder to attain for cheap-ticket flyers, after factoring both the lower earn rate and status requirement? GO is already not easy to retain for me. If they make it even harder, I may as well just give up.

They are crunching the numbers now, but yes, the goal is they are trying to find a way to reduce the bottom 5-10% of GO members and come up with a new system that drops them down to SL. It's two objectives: higher fare flyers will be rewarded to higher tiers more easily; lower-fare flyers will find it harder to attain premium tiers. If you are struggling to make GO now, and don't see an increase of premium flying in the future, I would start working out a plan B.
