Does anyone have any suggestions for 2x J seats on the A350-900? I read through the whole thread and I'm still not sure whether to book in the mini cabin or the front cabin. I think we are leaning towards booking two middle seats so we can at least try to talk to each other. Just not sure which row/cabin. TIA

Book any two together (D/G) if you want to talk to each other. The windows are better for singles or couples who don't want to interact. It's true the middles still require a little leaning forward but the As or Ks are you must get out of seat and stand in aisle. It's not conducive. Some couples I understand are already at the place where they want the peace. Mrs. QRC would kill me if I booked the windows front and back and therefore we always choose D/G combos when together on 35G, 35K or the long haul A333s. (maybe in 5-10 more years it will change).

As for seats. Absolutely positively do not select 11D/G, but generally you won't be allowed to anyway - they are so terrible CX generally does not release them for pax. Anything else D/G is perfectly fine. Personally I prefer forward cabin as the rear cabin occasionally gets interlopers from W and Y using the lav at door R2 separating mini cabin from main J. However, it seems some people love intimacy and privacy of mini cabin. YMMV.

The only seriously different seat arrangement is the front row of J in mini cabin (is it row 20?) in 35G. IIRC the screens are in the bulkhead and you have a bit more floorspace. Or maybe I'm remembering the 333 configs...basically it's the only D/G pair with a fundamentally different structural design due to the bulkhead. I don't love row 20 DG traveling alone or with Mrs QRC just two of us, but I do like this set of seats with our little one.

Service flow comes from forward galley (door 1) if that matters to you.

Basically if D/G, I think any seats are fine except absolutely not 11 D/G, and maybe 20 D/G you want to think carefully about. But 20 isn't flawed like 11, just different. 11 DG are so bad that if you do get stuck there you should change your flight or demand a refund.

The Premium Economy cabin is pretty accurately represented by the AeroLOPA seat map. There were a few blind spots towards the rear of the forward Economy cabin but I was fortunate to receive more recent detailed info which shed light on the precise seat positions in this area allowing the LOPA to be remapped accordingly

Is 20 D/G really that bad in long haul? I recently flew BKK-HKG on 20D/G with my girlfriend, and the seat feels more spacious than the middle seats in the front cabin. The crew didn't use the galley in front, plus the toilet isn't facing 20G, which makes the experience quite enjoyable with little traffic. Just that it's funny many people kept on opening the closet thinking it's the bathroom door.

Any suggestions for a family of 2 adults and a kid travelling in J on 35k long haul?

Is the kid an infant ticket or paid seat?

If two of you with infant, DG combo. Done it many times. We generally chose 18 DG since in back and nobody my kid can harass behind us. Also close to lav at door R2. But to be honest any will work. *EXCEPT* 11DG which are the "give me a refund" seats if you get stuck there. As I say upthread, avoid 11DG at all costs. It has to do with the lav entrances which open in to your seat, and to lesser degree galley curtain.

If you have 3 paid seats, any DG + A or K combo. Same row. Also done this many times with our helper. Works like a charm (esp if you're the lucky guy in the A or K seat!)

Same rules apply for my other post and the article Percy posted. Service flow is front to back (I don't really care). Galleys can have a little noise. If you care for trivia on 35K I believe the rear galley is used by EY / W whereas for 35G rear galley is extra for J. (But main J galley is front by doors 1).

What'd be a good seat for 1 adult plus one 3 year old in the business?

Interested in the privacy of the mini-cabin (21D/G) for us to get some sleep, but worried about the PE bassinet spots in the first row of PE. I imagine the curtain doesn't provide much sound dampening at all? Absolutely traumatized by two crying babies on our last 15hr flight in QR J, so trying to plan ahead for this possibility.

Is there any actual photo of either 15/16/17 window view?
I really would like to have a seat with excellent view, which is 21 by reports, but also OK to switch to 15sh rows.

I look at Aerlopa but honestly prefer to see real photos

I always just presume you're rolling the dice with kids in the cabin or nearby. I've had a rough ride in every class with kids. (Including my own.) Worst ever was EK F with a screaming baby in my cabin with his father and grandmother SIN-DXB for literally from push back in SIN to gate arrival in DXB. That was rough. I slept very very soundly on my second sector ex DXB.

I've gone back and forth on 35G mini-cabin. Ultimately I avoid it these days, because PEY and Y pax tend to pass thru the mini cabin to use the door R2 bathroom sometimes and there just isn't a whole lot crew often do about it. And I just don't like foot traffic. (For the same reason I personally wouldnt choose forward rows in front cabin.) It is true PEY bassinets are closeby too to mini-cabin. On a perfect flight I think it's better than the forward section but few flights are perfect. I choose last few rows in forward sections for long flights and seats 12A/K or 14 etc (near front) for shorthauls. I don't care about foot traffic for short flight and like being near the forward galley (where service comes from) and lavs. But longhauls I don't choose those seats.

Back when I was flying more CX A350s /3-class 777s and long-haul A333s (pre covid basically), I would sometimes ask upon checkin loading for j pey and/or y. And if it's an empty flight then I might move into mini cabin. But on full flight I prefer forward.

First time coming up flying business on CX, solo traveller. First leg is on A350-1000 (16.5 hour flight time) and second is on A350-900 (9.5 hour flight time). I'd really love a window seat, but I'm not sure I understand the priority seats and if there's a possibility I could lose my business class seat if someone else needs that priority seat? The first flight, I'm in 14G, there are other non-window seats further back, but 23K is also open. SImilarly on the second leg, I'm in 18G but 20K is open. Am I also likely overthinking the privacy of the G seats?

On my return flights, there's nearly full window availability on the first leg, so right now I've got 15A on the 350-900 and the second leg I have 22A on the 350-1000

If you�re alone go window. Don�t overthink it. The DG seats aren�t that private in the way AK are.

I have never, in countless flights been moved from a priority seat. Bassinet, also never. I�m talking about hundreds of flights. (However, I do tend to book very last minute which I�m sure skews my experience. It�s rare I�m booked more than a month in advance and usually a week or less before.). I do know people who have moved others out of bassinets so I know it happens.

out of curiosity what�s your itinerary? Ex YYZ BOS or JFK onwards to Australia is my guess?
