In business, is it easier to talk to your travel partner if you’re both sat in D and G, or if you’re sat across the aisle in A and D/G and K?

Definitely D and G.

Flying LHR-HKG on an A350-1000 tomorrow. I have reserved seat 30A. I am curious to know if there is more legroom on the 30HK side (both currently unoccupied) as 30AC is located right behind the bathroom.

No. There are equidistant. The centre block of 4 has more leg room though

I'd stick with 30A. Also there's a chance you'll get op-upped tmr. flights are looking quite full this weekend.

Thank you both. It will be my elderly father's first time travelling in business in a long time and I just want to be sure I am in the best possible seat position to help if he needs anything.

Actually if you need to walk over to assist another passenger it will have to be A + D or G + K - you can’t walk across if D + G and dad can’t get your attention if A + A or K + K.

Thanks for telling me that haha. I ended up getting upgraded. First upgrade without flying with a DM.

Full load today. I hope it’s not 11D/G? Was it a gate/counter op-up? Yesterday I saw 7J seats unfilled and thought you’d have a chance given there aren’t that many DMs in PEY.

11DG versus 30A is a good question though.

They gave me 23G. My boarding pass made an unusual sound at the gate but the ground staff didn’t seem to care or notice. I boarded the plane and saw someone else sitting in 30A. I spoke to a cabin crew member and they told me to wait by the door and offered me a glass of champagne. 2 minutes later another cabin crew member hands me a new boarding pass and says i’ve been upgraded.

What I found interesting is that I was told at check-in that seat 30C had technical issued and would remain unoccupied. I was also told how lucky I was as that was the only empty seat onboard. Guess I ended up getting even better luck 🤣

Upgraded onboard is a first. I hope the food is decent. Can you post the menu on the other thread when you have time? I’m due to fly next week as well.

You will learn to listen to that sound like the winner tone with a slot machine. Next is to read the displayed message on the led display.
CX tone are rather soft, unlike the AA boarding out of group tone.

The pros would set seat change alerts on EF. I normally would refresh my mobile boarding pass through CX’s app. But it spoils the fun though
