Cap on the 4% is 100RC i.e. $2,500 per week

If you haven't started now's the time to start - 8 weeks to go and you only need to buy $2,500 for seven weeks to get $17,500
Anyone still looking to form up a group for this? I suppose I can just do it alone, if I have to, weeping about the lost %-points, but I'd rather not. :P

Don't have a group yet but signed up as individual already and have some spending already. Still can? Just PM me what I need to do and how much to spend where and I'll see if I can make it happen.

I also get my HSBC Visa Signature about a month ago, putting all extra reward to "overseas spending".
So now getting 9x reward for any non-HK payment (prepaying a hotel on Friday can bump me up to 14x :P )

Percy,

Based on my reading, it seems for HSBC Premier cards, we can only get a maximum of $1,200RC over the promotion period (as opposed to the $1,400RC for HSBC advance visa, HSBC visa signature, HSBC visa plat, or HSBC green cards). Does this mean that I can only do this for six weeks instead of seven?

PS: I read it as allowing supplemental card holders to be part of the group. Do you know if I can double-up on the offer if I just do six weeks on both my card and the wife's card?

kawaii - oh yes someone noted this rule quirk over at hongkongcard.com. But one quick way is to quickly apply for a Visa Signature (for the extra 3X Rewards of Your Choice) or a Visa Platinum, make one Mannings spending on that before 28/2 and enjoy the 1,400RC cap.

HSBC counts by per ID - so you can't double up by using a supp card from your wife. However, can you persuade your wife to play?

Hmm, I wonder if she's considered a supplemental or not then. I can't remember if her card was an application submitted at the same time as me, or a supplemental to my card. But she just activated her card yesterday and then joined the promo. I'll have her do a few transactions today and see what pops up in my account.

Just as a separate question:

If the weekly cap is 200RC (x7 weeks for 1400RC), why is the spending $2.5k per week for Mannings? Assuming 10% for individual, it would be $2,000, and assuming 12% for group of 5, it would be ~$1,675, to hit the cap, no? I feel like I'm missing something.

Is it because the Mannings offer (despite saying "Weekend Bonus Offer is subject to the maximum RC rebate amount.") is subject to the different maximum of 600RC? So, we're actually looking at a promotional RC cap of 2000RC (assuming all purchases are done on the weekend @ Mannings)? So, 2000/7 = ~285RC a week, which at 10% for individual is 2850 spend, or at 12% for group is 2375 spend per week?

Sorry for the confusion - just haven't figured out how the numbers work together yet.

If you register as a group of 5, you can get 8% (6%+2%) at Mannings every day in the week (200 RC max per week and 1400 RC max for the whole period), so $2500 spending generates 200 RC per week in this case. To hit the maximum you need to spend $2500 every week for 7 weeks (200 RC x 7 = 1400 RC)

The extra 4% every Fri, Sat and Sun is capped at 100 RC per week and 600 RC for the whole period from Jan 9, and spending $2500 on Fri/Sat/Sun exactly generates 100 RC. To hit the maximum you need to spend $2500 on Fri/Sat/Sun every week for 6 weeks (100 RC x 6 = 600 RC)

So the easiest way to go is spending $2500 at Mannings on Fri/Sat/Sun every week for six weeks and the remaining $2500 on any day of the seventh week. If you register 'Home' for your 6x you'd better do all you spending on Fridays.

Ah! I see - you have to calculate them separately (the numbers make a lot more sense that way). Thanks for the clarification!

So basically there is 12% (adding 6+2+4). Which means that assuming that there is spending of HK10,000, there is 1,200 reward cash. Multiplied by 15 that becomes 18,000 miles. Right?

What FTTalkBen and others told us above effectively means there is 12% reward cash for shopping at Mannings (in the manner described and up to a ceiling).

Question - what about shopping at Times Square? Can someone please advise? Thank you.

Assuming you have registered as a group of five (so that you can get 6%) and you spend $2500 on Fri/Sat/Sun each week for four weeks, you are right. However you cannot spend the $10000 in one go to get the 1200 RC.

Question - what about shopping at Times Square? Can someone please advise? Thank you.
If you have registered as a group of 5, you can get 8% for shopping in Broadway at Times Square and 6% for shopping in all other shops in the mall.

For all spendings of $500 or above you can go to 5/F or B2 for lucky draw, in which you may win 10RC/50RC/$100 Marathon coupon/etc.

Thank you. So it is 6% (assuming group of 5) for Times square as opposed to 12% for Mannings. What are the caps (weekly and overall) for Times square?
Thanks.

There are no special caps for Times Square. Whether you spend at Times Square or not the weekly cap is 200 RC and overall cap is 1400 RC.

Edit: Sorry, my bad. The cap for all shops other than Broadway is 60 RC per week and 420 RC overall. That translates into $1000 (60 / 0.06) per week and $7000 (420 / 0.06) overall.

The 200/1400 cap includes spending in Broadway and Mannings. Sorry for the confusion.
