So in the next phase we're going to see more "redesigning the navigation and the overall look and feel of both the web and mobile experiences"? What do they want to do? Make the site look like Candy Crush?

I find it difficult to comprehend the last phase was focusing on the back end...they focused on revamping the feel of the site but added almost no new functionality.

Of course she needs to do her PR job right?

There will be some cosmetic changes but the real big change that requires 8 hours of work are backend changes. Also, they were overwhelmed with site traffic that causes many hic-ups and they are adding capacity bandwidth to address that issue.

Cookies and the cache I can clear (had to look up how to do that on the internet!).
But when I try to log in to cathaypacific.com with my MPC number and PIN using my laptop, all I do is get referred to a page that tells me
"You are unable to proceed as you may have logged out, or your session has expired. Please log in again." I can go round in circles all day with this because it never lets me in.
Couple that with the number of times on my desktop:
- the website tells me that "cathaypacific.com is not responding" and that I have to recover it
- the occasional time that using the CX website completely freezes my desktop and all the other open IE windows
- the occasional time it tells my desktop that I am unable to proceed because I may have logged out
and I have to say that they've transformed a website that did 90% of what I needed to do into one that does exactly 0% of what I need to do. For an airline that I like, it's a desperately poor performance and constant apologies doesn't make it any better. Fortunately the mobile app lets me check in, even when the desktop tells me that it cannot find my booking and it needs more information than my eticket number, name, MPC number, flight number and location of birthmarks before it can tell me again that it can't find my booking.
I can only hope that the refreshed refresh taking place at the weekend solves some of these problems because it's a dreadful experience trying to use it to do anything at the moment and I might go from 281,000 miles in 2013 to zero miles in 2014 to avoid the frustration.

Moscowflyer: Hmmm....more extreme step but can you install Firefox on your desktop?
I cannot install on my corporate desktop but I found I can copy the program folder from my home desktop and run the Firefox program direct from the folder.

Still, I rather hope they fix these issues with Sunday's repair work and that it works with all sorts of browsers on all sorts of computers :-)

Thanks for the advice percysmith. It now works if I use Chrome, but again not if I use IE so obviously an IE compatibility issue on my laptop (desktop is fine). Somewhere I have Safari on the machine as well but I don't have Firefox.

These are web browsers modes that browses websites with everything starting in a clean slate, which includes steps like "clearing cache and cookies" but much more.
But keep in mind CX website is pretty messed up, these steps will improve some things, but not fix everything.

So new page is back up and looks like "change my booking" is back and it looks like it would work. I've tried with my own booking and like many other First world airlines, FINALLY we have ability to change flight. For my restricted V fare, it can search for other flights and clearly indicates it cost HK$xxx dollar to change, and also it shows how much it cost to upgrade to new fair bucket (but within same class of service). I didn't proceed to final page but looks to be a promising start finally.
Howeve for restricted fares, my understanding is it cost change fee for entire transaction, not per segment. For example by calling CX Reservation, if you change both outbound/return it only cost say $600 to change, but online looks like you can only do 1 by 1, meaning if you change both, it might charge you double fees

For MMB, I am able to see my passport details, including expiry date and DOB already. Hopefully these will be populated over during OLCI.
