Don't know if this is by design or bug. After finally getting in (12 minutes), clicked Manage My Booking, and it asks me to type in MPO number and password again....

Try clearing cache, it didn't work for me for the first time.

Blank page after I clicked "back to my account" which is in very tiny font at bottom left of page. I give up for now, I'm going to take it that CX is still working on back end things and just throwing up the front end to not missed the 1 p.m. deadline.

If the problem is the website "memorizing" who I am, clearing cache and cookies make it worse.

Clicked MPO offers: got the "we're almost there page"

http://www.cathaypacific.com/mainten...e_main_cx.html

So it looks like they are indeed "almost" there

I gotta say the new website looks kind of ugly with a few rough edges. For example, the pop down MPO info box that appears when you hoover over the red down arrow next to your name is just downright uninspired and ugly.

The pop down menus are also not that sharp and boring. Many parts of the website are basically exactly the same as the old site but just with different skins, even the layout are generally the same (ie. travel classes).

Personally, judging from the style and design, it is quite obvious that a local company designed and engineered this website, which might be a good thing because this website feels distinctively Hong Kong. You'll know what I mean when you look at AA, BA or SQ's websites.

On the whole, I think the website redesign is a step towards the right direction, with a lot more work that needs to be done. The old one really feels like Windows 98, and this one feels like XP.

PS - is it just me or are extra legroom sites no longer blocked in MMB?

I think the new website looks nice. It kind of gives the consistent look with the mobile apps. Also it feels very CX.

Haven't gone through in details, but a view functionalities are missing or not fixed
- now the MPC details only show next qualification. Last time if you are Silver it will show number for you to requalify as Silver.
- upgrade rewards function still not functioning.

I purposely delay my YYZ trip booking after upgrade just in case. well now I am even thinking not to fly them due to their stupid and overpriced PE.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_1_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9B206 Safari/7534.48.3)

1. No functionality changes:
- no modify booking (award, at least)
- no partner, stopover, transit redemption
- PE award availability still shown incorrectly

But no loss of functionality noted either. Miles, tier data and bookings still display correctly.

2. Mobile and app left largely unchanged

3. Date selection on booking page must be with their calendar date choose now, pre-refresh the dates can be keyed in.

4. But location selection using IATA airport codes seem snappier.

Overall, seems like a very low risk aesthetic update with no change in functionality

Makes one wonder why it took so long to just update the look.

The very first thing a customer should see at website refresh is : WHAT's NEW. What can I do now that I cannot before ?

Clearly nothing. Everything that was ugly and confusing (seat selection, seat map by aircraft, asia miles earned after an upgrade booking, cannot copy & paste those stupidly long links to share offers with friends, cannot open pages in new windows because it insists on using javascript to navigate between pages) is still so except the column-width is wider.

I think there is a loss of functionality as well - once inside one booking, I could not navigate to my "previous" and "next" bookings.

Hopefully something has been changed or migrated on the backend to allow new features to be more easily introduced in the future. But if not, what a disappointment CX. Your customer website IT team should all be dismissed.

Has anyone noticed that some of the aircraft photos on the refreshed page are incorrect? The B777-300 has an upper deck .... and one of the cargo planes looks like a passenger plane ...

Looks like you can assign yourself extra-legroom seats again.
