I got the impression that we devolved into general versus specific -- I lost the city pair some time ago Single digits here...brain not thawed out yet.

I think the flight is overbooked from yesterday online check in and full of family and your group. Thus the upgrade even with only a one world ruby inside the system?

So excited haha
QR gold = oneworld sapphire. Right ?

Got "upgraded" to PE on both leg of my flight. CX739 even PE full. They did swap the plane from 333 to 77W. The agent told me they swaped the aircraft twice

my flights on 1st Jan is relatively empty from TPE to SIN, via HKG, the only one with plenty of economy so i guess no chance of op up

the rest of the flights are very very full, but mine...

If KVS shows 772 for HKG-SIN 659 - should I expect the old business class for this red-eye flight?

You are very right. I have been upgraded to C class with CX for quite number of time for the past 2 years that I have been flying with cathay. In almost 3 years i have been flying almost 50 flights and i think the C class upgrade at least happen more than 5 times, may be less than 10. So 10% upgrade for lowly SL is not that bad....

This is one of the reason I flew CX. Now with PE in place, I am rethinking if I should clock to MH but MH does not earn miles on CX V class.

I will try to avoid 772 as much as I can. It is the worst CX aircraft. I was on 772 on the same flight about a year ago. Nothing fantastic. Just big seat with limited recline. Almost similar to the PE

SIN-HKG equipment lottery

Just came back last Thursday. Regional 330
Bus with new J; both Mrs CRP (PLT) and I upgraded @ gate. Kinda nice too, considering the 0115 departure was pushed to 0315.

For the new J on A330, it is configured on 1-2-1 seating plan.
