40 points is the highest I've ever had on the scratch card. 0-20 is usual.
I suppose if you went into a shop and bought 50x Freddo Frogs or something, each in a separate transaction, you could easily get 250-400 bonus points minimum. Not sure if I would have the patience to do that (probably no worse than some Tesco promo a while ago where people scanned 1 sprout or something for points?)

Not always - my nearest Sainsbury Local does not always do it but the one at Man Picc does... Had a couple of 120 points and 40s seem to be the average

I normally get the scratch card in the Nectar app at the stores using a self-scanner (Smart Shop) if I don't buy anything on my bonus offers list but I have discovered i always get a scratch card in the app at any Sainsbury's Local which doesn't have the self scanners. I also get bonus NPs from my saved offers at Sainsbury's Locals despite them not offering self scanning devices. I guess it works because I am still self scanning. Never tried it at a store with the Smart Shop facility but not using the self scanner device.

It'd be to my interest to switch over to Tesco and work on my Virgin Points balance at some point now they've gone to SkyTeam, but I've got a target Avios figure in mind, first...

As a Caffé Nero regular, I've stopped converting my points to Avios (and I've kept the 50,000 Nectar points that I converted over just before the last devaluation). I'm currently getting well over >1p per Nectar point based on using 350 points per drink at Nero.
So as long as that offer continues, Nectar is a better day to day program for me. Especially as I'm collecting about 6-700 bonus points per week.
