How likely is it that two seats would come available in any cabin to Hong Kong or Singapore for July?
There were a few dates the other day and there have been for a while, but they've now gone!

Go to BA, book a WTP - enter your AA details as the traveler - then have your friend or family member upgrade you with BA Avios
or
keep your accounts separate - AA for the cash booking - then use the BA account for the upgrade alone

e.g.,
I even had myself added as a travel companion to our household (with an AA number)
So then when I book tickets the AA number shows up and I get benefits of lounge etc
Would this work for part pay with Avois (eg the £10 off for 1000 Avios). I have always wanted to use that but avoided because you have to login to BAEC immediately to use your Avios and then I can't put my Qantas FF number in on passenger details. .

Try it and see. Make yourself a traveling companion with your QF number on your BA profile and then book.
Be prepared to not get QF credit for that flight if it does not work - and please let us know how it goes.

Would this workRoute
LHR-DOH-BKK-PER
First in all segments except BKK-PER in economy.
This would be 70 000 avios right?
And get off in BKK and skip the last leg to PER.

why pay the Avios and fees for a leg you don't plan to use?

Should be. Qatar to BKK then Qantas to PER. Oneworld award with BA avios. Longest leg should be in economy and its under 10000 miles = 70 000 avios.

I have heard - anecdotally - that BA have gotten really strict on the routings for multi-partner awards now.

They want the most direct route to be taken…

If this routing was possible though, that would be excellent. I paid I think 112,500 Avios for ZRH-DOH-BKK in F last year. Please keep me posted!

Have you actually found award-seat availability for the various segments on your intended dates of travel?

Note that multi-carrier awards permit stopovers -- not just connections -- at each intermediate point.

Why does JFK-LHR now cost 25,000 Avios in BA economy but 30,000 Avios for the same date in the opposite direction LHR-JFK?
